Adequate vegan cheese
In the world of vegan cheese, Daiya is certainly the most common as well as the easiest to find. Basically, it'll do in a pinch if you don't have access to any other options. The pepperjack is probably the best flavor of the available options.
I love putting this in tacos. I think its the best tasting daiya cheese! Having the little bit of spicy kick in your mouth is delicious! It may not melt just like regular cheese but, If you can't eat cheese and like a lil spice I highly recommend trying it out!
Daiya makes the BEST vegan cheese in my opinion. The pepperjack flavour is very nice. It melts just like normal cheese, very well actually. The taste is also delicious. Very impressed with this brand
I watch a 2 year old with severe dairy allergy, she absolutely loves this cheese. It melts like cows cheese. As a dairy eating adult , I personally do not enjoy the taste, but anything that makes being dairy free easy, amd makes kids feel like they are not missing out is a win in my world.
Vegan cheese often gets a bad reputation, and I assume it's because most people don't realize it's not going to taste like dairy milk cheese. That said, this cheese has a very distinct taste and that's a good thing. The formula has changed and it melts better now. I've used this with Mac and cheese, lasagna, pasta dishes and no one can tell the difference once it's melted. It's a little strange on pizza I have to admit.
The Daiya products are a bit hit or miss for me, but this is definitely my favourite cheese of theirs.
This is a shredded cheese, which makes it perfect to add as a topping to things like pizza or tacos. It has a great spiciness to it that makes it very flavourful. I don't typically like anything spicy, but this has just the right amount. This doesn't have that weird taste that their other cheeses seem to havd, probably because of the Pepperjack flavour.
When kept in the freezer, this product will last a long time. You can just take out a little bit at a time to use as needed in whatever it is you're cooking. It defrosts pretty quickly on its own, or you can melt it on top of something. It is a very messy cheese when handling it with your fingers, though, so just be warned -- it will crumble all over your hands.
The bag is kind of small compared to what you would get with most big brands, so in that sense, it does feel like you're paying more for less. Still, it's a good option to use every now and then.
