Not my favourite vegan pizza
This pizza didn't hit the mark. I was so excited when my local grocery store started selling these, so I picked one up and let me tell you the vegan cheese used tastes just plain almonds.
A new twist on pizza!
I was very intrigued to try Daiya's Dairy Free Fire-Roasted Vegetable Pizza after seeing it many times in the supermarket.
I will say that the taste of the sauce and vegetables were delicious. Even the "vegan" cheese is definitely worth trying out, as I didn't miss regular dairy-cheese at all. However, the main problem I had with this pizza is that the crust tasted like cardboard. I felt like I just wanted to scoop off all the ingredients and just eat them on some other carb like a tortilla or even just place onto some lettuce wraps and leave out the dry and tasteless crust. I have had gluten-free crusts before and they were very tasty, so this was rather disappointing that Daiya put a lot of effort it seems to all the other components of the pizza, but didn't make the crust very edible.
These types of products are rather expensive, as they are found in the natural frozen food section, so I think i'm saving my money and will look for another dairy-free pizza that may suit my needs better!
We are an allergy family and cannot have any dairy or eggs. This is our quick go to product on busy nights. It tastes ok, my daughter who has the severe allergies wouldn't be able to compare it to other pizza, but we notice the taste is a bit bland.
I was surprised by the taste of this pizza, given that is was dairy and gluten free. I was expecting it to taste awful but it was not bad at all. My husband is gluten intolerant so he decided to buy this pizza, it said new and improved crust on the box so he gave it a try. He said he'd probably buy it again.
