DAP Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone in White was a no brainer to go with for my needs. You can use it on window and door frames. I personally used it in my bathroom. It can be painted in 30 minutes, has excellent flexibility, waterproof seal, easy water clean up, low odour, and can be used interior and exterior.

I opted to use it for my bathroom shower, and re-doing my windows and doors for the colder fall and upcoming winter season. It worked perfectly. The fumes were not overwhelming or nauseating. The smell actually dissipated quite quickly after applying. Being an amateur DIYer, it was easy to apply with a caulking gun and was so easy to clean up for the spots I may have overdone it.

DAP has always been my go-to brand for anything and everything that needs some sealant/caulking. Its a brand I trust and would continue to purchase.

"I recently had the chance to use the Alex Plus All Purpose Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone (300 mL in white) for several different projects around the house, and it’s safe to say I’m pretty impressed by the product's versatility and performance. I used it in various areas, including baseboards, window frames, door trims, and even in my bathroom around the sink and tub. For a general-purpose caulk, it does a great job adapting to different surfaces, including wood, drywall, tile, and glass, without any issues.

First off, the application was a lot smoother than I expected. This caulk has a thick but smooth consistency that’s just right for control—it’s not too runny, so it doesn’t drip and make a mess, but it's also not so thick that it’s tough to work with. I was able to get a clean bead with minimal effort, and I appreciated that it doesn’t dry out in the nozzle while working. It’s also relatively beginner-friendly, which makes it a solid choice for DIYers or anyone who may not have professional caulking experience.

Another highlight is the product's drying time. It’s not an instant set, but it’s fast enough that you’re not left waiting all day for it to cure, yet it still gives you enough time to make adjustments if necessary. I was able to touch it up and smooth it out without feeling rushed, which was especially helpful when I needed to work around corners and edges. Once dry, it forms a solid yet flexible seal that feels durable. I used it in some areas exposed to temperature changes, like near windows, and it held up well without cracking or peeling.

One of the biggest advantages of this product is that it’s fully paintable once dry. I used a water-based paint over it, and the paint adhered nicely, with no signs of peeling or chipping. The caulk blends in well with the wall color and trim, and you can’t tell where the caulk lines are, which gives everything a more finished and professional look. This was a major selling point for me because it allowed me to achieve a seamless finish that looked like it was done by a pro.

As for durability, the caulk is advertised as waterproof and mildew-resistant, which I found to be true in practice. After a couple of weeks in a bathroom setting, I haven’t seen any signs of mildew, and it’s holding up well against regular cleaning. Great product.

The all purpose chaulk plus silicone worked great! I used it around some windows and doors to help with the draft. Went on nice and smooth. Looks great. Would recommend to family and friends. And will buy again in the future for future products.

Omg! It is very easy it was to use It had a perfect, smooth finish. I applied it to the wall near my sink as it was damaged a bit and it looked ugly. I waited a few hours for the application to dry it out. It’s completely dry, nice, clean and with no cracks at all. It fills in nicely & smooths well, and holds paint. It stays put, and It is a high-quality product I loved it!

A toolkit staple & every home must-have

DapCanada ALEX PLUS Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone Gifted Free courtesy of This is Butterly. This came in handy as we are renovating our master bathroom. My husband always has a tube of this handy and reliable white miracle paste. We used it around the new window frames, the shower tiles and bathtub edges.

What makes it special is you can paint over it in 30 minutes, has a waterproof seal, low odour, use interior or exterior with easy water clean up.

It helps to have a good caulking gun to limit the messiness of a product like caulking. A definite toolkit staple, and a must-have for every home.

Durable

I received the Alex Plus All Purpose Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone for free, in exchange for my honest review. I love this product and definitely a great time to finish the outside windows that need a little love. The drying time was around 30 minutes so I wasn't worried about any moisture problems.
