Historical Fiction. This is a prequel to Through A Glass Darkly, the story before Barbara. It still bears the same characeristic writing of Karleen Koen and makes the pages spring to life as you visualize yourself, down to what the characters look like and the clothes they are wearing. I remember reading one chapter where they described the neighborhood, and it was so vivid from the color of the trees and shapes, I could see it clearly. Love love love this series by Karleen Koen.
