Gillian Flynn is a master at writing about horrible people who do horrible, awful things. She's dark, gory, macabre, and you'll have a tough time finding any likable characters here....but she has quickly become one of my favourite authors. The book itself is gruesome and quite gory in places....with bullying, molestation, brutal killings, satanic worshiping, drugs, and sex....and some scenes are so descriptive and disturbing, I actually had to put the book down for a bit. But it's also a well paced and suspenseful mystery/thriller that kept me guessing right up until the end. Can't wait to see what she does next ....RECOMMENDED but read at your own risk!!

I overall liked this book. It is pretty dark and graphic so if you aren't into that stuff, be waned. I found it a bit scary/creepy at times. It was definitely a page turner though and very suspenseful. I also enjoyed the style of writing she uses where she flips back and forth from past to present. I didn't love the ending (no spoilers) but overall I enjoyed reading it. I've also read Gone Girl from Gillian Flynn and I think I liked this just as much. I'm going to read her other book Sharp Objects next!
