Demeter is awesome. Not because they have great quality perfumes (they don't - nothing from Demeter has any staying power past an hour or two) but because their scents are so unusual. Everything is single-note, so you don't have to sort through a bunch of scents to figure out what you're smelling. You buy a bottle that says "Cotton Candy" and what you smell is cotton candy, not freesia and pink pepper and tonka bean with musky wood midnotes and a vanilla cream drydown. You smell cotton candy, period. It's incredible how they've managed to do this, but their entire fragrance library is single-note true-to-name scents that do one thing...they smell like whatever the bottle says they are. My favorites are the food/dessert and candy scents, which all smell so realistic they'll have you getting in the car to run to the donut shop. The lack of staying power doesn't stop me from buying them, and since they're single note, you can layer different scents on top of each other to make your own distinct combination scent. Have fun :)

I received a Massage & Body Oil from the Demeter collection in "Sunshine" from the brand to try. Since I wax my legs and underarms at home, I prefer using an oil (instead of a lotion) as my post-wax moisturizer since it also helps clean up any leftover wax on my skin.

I was so pleased with this particular scent. The fragrance is hard to peg. According to the website, it's like cotton warmed in the sun (think of putting laundry out to dry on a clothesline), but I find it sweeter than that. It smells floral without being flowery, coconut without being tropical. Quite simply, it's a really unique scent that just smells wonderfully indulgent.

I generally prefer unisex or "sporty" fragrances (kind of a tomboy I guess) and when I go floral, it's more aromatherapeutic like lavenders and mints. This fragrance is not one I would have picked off the shelf, but now that I have it, I know I'll buy it again.

Just like the rest of the Demeter fragrance family, "Sunshine" is available as a cologne spray, lotion, air freshener, bath gel, body oil, and more. The cologne sprays are available at Real Canadian Superstore, while the rest of the product line is available on their website (they ship worldwide).
