Works well to polish off the uneven skin. Leaves skin smooth but as the title of the product says, it's not as effective as a true face polish/scrub.
This is a very effective and mild exfoliant that's great for daily use. I use this after cleansing in the shower. I just pour a little bit into one not-so-wet hand while I wet the other one thoroughly. I then make contact with the two and then rub the watery/foamy mixture on my face which I leave on for about 1-2 minutes. This makes my skin soft, even and smooth without having to use harsh abrasives. A little definitely goes a long way. I've had the full size since last year and there's still loads in the bottle despite pretty much using it every day. My only complaint is that I wish the bottle came in a more compact size that actually fitted the contents as it's too large and is inconvenient to travel with, although it looks great in the bathroom. Definite will repurchase.
This unique Rice-based enzyme powder microfoliates dulling debris and instantly leaves skin noticeably smoother and brighter. Contains no artificial fragrance or color."
This stuff is amazing! I have been using it everyday since I got it and love it. You wet your face, pour a little bit into your wet hands so it is like a paste and rub it on your face. It is super gentle, you can use it everyday and it makes your skin CRAZY soft after.
Would I recommend this: YES
Would I Purchase the full size? YES (If I had the $$ - It is around $50 for the 75 g bottle)
It's hard for me to find any type of good skin care, but if I use this microfoliant roughly 2-3 times week, it seems to be helping. Mind you, I've only had this product for 2 weeks so far but not harsh reactions.
My sister works in a salon/spa and arranged for me to have a "Face Mapping" done which studies your face and then you get told which products would work best for your skin. I was "prescribed" this and am hoping for more positive results! :) I'd say to give it a try.
I really love how this product makes my skin feel but, I'm a dufus because it took three tries before I realized that I wasn't doing it properly. You see, the instructions say to mix it in your wet hands and massage it on your face for one minute -- It goes one really liquidy and smooth. I massaged it as though I were cleaning my face. After what seemed like a minute, I thought "that's long enough" and I washed it off. I didn't notice any results and was really disappointed.
It wasn't until the third time that I kept it on alot longer --- and it turns into an interesting paste, and you whisk away the particles. It whisks off the dead skin and my face felt fabulous!!!! That's when I fell in love with the product!! I really wish that the instructions were more explicit, something like, "massage for one minute until it thickens to a paste. Whisk away particles". Did anyone else have this experience of not fully understanding how the product should work, or am I the only one?!
Also, as I received this in my Swag Bag at the Shopaholic event, I didn't know the retail price, so I went to the website but could not find the price. I see from other reviewers that the price is around the $75 mark. If that's indeed the price, hmmmm, that's really hefty and I don't think I'd feel good about shelling out that much. In this review, I'm going down the middle for rating the price, just because I'm not sure what it is (If it's $75, do you get a much bigger container?). As for quality and effectiveness, top marks!!
I received this product as a part of the swag from the Shopaholic movie night.
I am really impressed with this product. Other exfoliating products I have tried have either been too harsh or drying. This one was perfect!
It comes in powder form, and at first glance looks similar to talcum powder. You mix it with a little water to form a paste and then massage it into your face for one minute.
After using this for a few days, my skin feels smoother and softer, and I have a nice "glow" from all the exfoliating!
I am going to continue to keep using this product until it runs out, however I am not sure if I will buy it. It is really expensive, more than I've never paid for a microexfoliant and I would like to see what it does for my skin in the long term.
I've received several trial size containers of this stuff in the past year or so, and there's a reason I keep collecting them!
This is a really nifty product. I believe it is finely ground rice that is the exfoliant which is something I've never seen before. To use the product you simply wet your hands, then pour some powder in and rub together. The wetness on your hands turns it into a slight paste and you gently rub this all over your face.
I love how my skin feels after using this... soft and refreshed with no irritation (I have VERY sensitive skin!). It's a very gentle exfoliant and a little goes a long way.
One issue I have with it is that it is very drying--you definitely want to put some moisture back into your skin after this. I would also recommend only using it once or twice a week depending on skin type.
My other issue is that the price is totally outrageous! It's only available at certain spas or at the Dermalogica office, so it's got a hefty price tag. I think I saw it for $75 at one location.
To get around having to buy it, I keep my eyes peeled for free samples, or I sign up for a skin clinic with Dermalogica--you go to their offices and learn how to take care of your skin and receive a small sample kit and snacks for $10. This seems like a better deal to me.
I think this is a great product and will continue using my samples, but I don't think I'd ever pay full price for it!
