Calling all Vanilla-anything lovers. Whenever I go to Sephora, I always visit the perfume section and search for scents that have vanilla in them and I, of course, will buy them (addict, much?)

This has been my all time fav perfume for 8 years now. I describe it as a spice vanilla combo (see below for the actual notes), and while it can be quite strong when you first apply it (one spritz goes a long way), it wears sooo nicely and lasts a long time. I have been complimented on my scent after wearing it for 10 hours- no joke! It's always so nice when you get complimented and you can't smell it yourself anymore :)

The only reason I rated the price as average is because I am a perfume addict and will even wear some to bed, so I tend to go through perfume fast! At ~$90 a pop, it adds up! (I became a VIB Rouge member at Sephora because of this).

    Notes:
Bitter Almond, Caraway Spice, Sambac Jasmine, Cinnamon, Tuberose, Vanilla, Musk, Mosses, Jucarunda Wood.

    Style:
    Hypnotizing. Extravagant. Bewitching.

I have a love/hate relationship with Dior fragrances. Some smell gorgeous and wear well on anyone, but there are others that only wear well on certain people even though it smells horrible on a strip of paper. I'm not the biggest fan of the poison family, but I really like Hypnotic Poison the best! First off, it's a very spicy, but still slightly sweet fragrance. It is very full bodied, so wear very little of it as to not overpower the room. I remembered the first time I smelled this on a strip of paper, I had a reaction that I had never had before with other fragrances; I remembered my eyes involuntarily rolled back a little (sounds soooo weird, but it's true!). I didn't know what to think of it at first because it's such a strong scent, but the longer the scent developed, the more I liked it. I tried it on my skin and it surprisingly wore well with my body chemistry. This is a fragrance that I think goes well on a date, if you want to make a lasting impression and catch the attention of your date. It's very sexy and sensual and it lasts quite a long time since it's a spice fragrance (as opposed to florals or citruses which don't wear very long). I sound like a broken record by now, but I cannot stress how much you need to know not to spray too much of this! I spray a little on my wrists (then try to dab my neck with my wrists) and one or two sprays on my clothing. I think the name "Hypnotic Poison" describes this scent quite well.

This has been my go-to, day-to-day perfume for a couple of years now. I wanted a fresh new scent after wearing Vera Wang's Princess for so long as a teen, so when a friend recommended this to me I decided to give it a try! It's a sweet scent that's a bit musky, but I find that it lasts throughout the day and is very subtle as the hours go by. My boyfriend absolutely loves the scent, too -- he went out of his way to purchase a bottle for me one year! Many people compliment me on this perfume -- I think because the smell is so unique. I haven't found a perfume that smells similarly to this yet -- to me it smells like a mix of soft vanilla and root beer, which I love, because it's a strange smell but extremely flattering and intoxicating for some reason. It's become my signature scent, and I find that all of my scarves now smell like it! The price is expensive, but pretty average for higher end perfumes, in my opinion, so I feel that it's absolutely worth the splurge.

The price is a little too much for me but ohh the scent is like Heaven. If I had extra money to spend on perfume this would be the one for me but I always spray the tester lol

Dior Hypnotic Poison was on the market since 1998. I had never batted an eye at it until a store associate suggested it. I came home with a sample and have been wearing it all day. The staying power is excellent. It has a somewhat of a mysterious and mesmerizing, almost magical scent to it. I could not tell any of the notes that are in it. So I looked it up and this is what it has; bitter almond, caraway spice, sambac jasmine, cinnamon,
Tuberose, vanilla, musk, mosses and jacaranda wood. For a 1.7 oz bottle is $82.00 which is average in price. So, what do I think of it. I am not sure. I can take it or leave it. I have other scents that I like so much better. I guess I should be asking my husband? Hold on a minute. Verdict, nope he likes the one I tried yesterday which is Manifest by Yves Saint Laurent.
