It was last fall when I was with a friend who was looking for different colour mascara's. I always wore black. Dark brown was being daring. I tried a purple mascara and it looked cool. One day I was in Shopper's Drug Mart and I was looking for a new mascara. I bought the Diorshow Azure Blue 258. I wear glasses so I wanted my eyes to pop. If you do not want such dramatic lashes you can always start with a black mascara and put the blue over it.

Diorshow was my first expensive mascara purchase, after I heard how using Diorshow with Shiseido Mascara Base would give you lashes to die for. In mascaras, I look for length and volume, since I have the world's skimpiest eyelashes. Diorshow certainly does deliver in these two aspects - it adds a lot of volume and a very respectable amount of length. No one's going to mistake my lashes for fakes after using Diorshow, but they certainly wouldn't be called skimpy by any means. However, I'm not overly enthusiastic about this mascara. First of all, this is a pricey mascara (as you would expect from any Christian Dior cosmetic) at approximately $30, and since you need to throw it out every 3 months, the dollars quickly add up. In addition, I found the mascara clumps quickly when you apply a second coat, which means you'll be spending a lot of time combing out your lashes. And finally on a related note, it found the mascara dried up so quickly - so ridiculously quickly that if I weren't such a cheap ass, I'd throw out the mascara after two months. Diorshow works well, but there are better mascaras out there and hopefully they won't come at such a high price either!

Right now this is my fave mascara! I got a lux sample of this from Sephora and I loved it so much I had to buy a full size. It just gives my lashes that extra pizzaz with out clumping, flaking or smudging.

I received a small sample of DiorShow Mascara, and when I first opened it, the brush was just as big as the actual bottle! LOL.. I was NOT expecting that.

Anyway, it smelled nice, which was a first, as most mascaras usually smell very chemical-y and very much like paint thinner. I normally curl my lashes before putting on my mascara to set it, so I curled 'em with my trusty Shu Uemura eyelash curler, and did a light coat of DiorShow on there.

So far, so good. No clumps, clean, lengthening, and wonderful............ but it didn't set my lashes the way the current cheapie mascara I'm trying out (Maybelline Great Lash) did.

    Hmm. Maybe it's just me.

But my lashes did look long, much softer, not clumpy at all, but not very voluminous or lush, but long, nonetheless. Just a shame you couldn't see HOW long, considering my curled lashes weren't set in place by DiorShow. They kind of just sunk back down to being normal, uncurled lashes...

I also found that it didn't really smudge, given it's not a waterproof mascara (right?) and it didn't flake, so that's a plus. I'm usually dabbing at the corner of my eyes at the end of the day, trying to remove any black flakes.

I've been trying it out for about a week now, and so far.. not so thrilled, ONLY because it doesn't properly set my curled lashes (I view mascara as a hairspray of sorts for eyelashes), and curling my lashes, REALLY makes me look awake and alive.. When I don't curl my lashes, I will guarantee that someone, that day, will look at me and ask why I look so tired or if I'm sad. :P

So.. my verdict is: Not worth the $31 for my personal preferences, but!! if you are a girl who has naturally gorgeous thick lashes (and we all hate you for it), and you want length more than volume, then this is THE best mascara to use.

But me, I'm stickin' to my cheapie Maybelline Great Lash, and maybe trying a higher end Maybelline mascara after (I'm makin' the rounds....)

I never thought I'd pay this much for a tube of mascara, but this is the best I've ever used by far. I've tried 8 different kinds in the past 3 years (Lancome L'Extreme, Definicils & Hypnose, Max Factor 2000 Calorie, Clinique High Definition, Maybelline Great Lash & Lash Discovery, L'Oreal Voluminous...quite a list!) in a quest to find perfection. DiorShow lived up to the hype for me. Long, black, separated, curled, thickened lashes!! No clumps, no smudges. The only reason that I haven't bought it again is that I've been hoping to find its twin at a drug store price. The nearest I've come is the Voluminous, but I may have to give it up and pledge my undying loyalty to Dior!

By the way, Max Factor 2000 Calorie and Lancome Hypnose are 2 other worthy candidates if I had to choose runners-up in the mascara race.

DiorShow Masacara works very well. it lengthened my lasses which is what i was looking for but it dried out after a month of use. For $25 i don't think its worth it.

I bought this mascara after winning a $100 gift certificate to Sephora from chickadvisor (gotta love free makeup!). The mascara is great for length and curl mostly because it has a really big brush to get even coverage. It also doesn't clump which I always have had problems with. It isn't waterproof though so not the one for a wedding etc. but there is a dior waterproof mascara available as well. The price does seem a bit steep at first but it is definately worth it.

I'm loving this mascara! A close rival, the Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara isn't quite a grown up as the Dior Show mascara. I believe I did a bit of crying shortly after my first application, but I didn't have smeared brown cheeks when I looked in the mirror. There was minimal damage control under the eye as to be expected, but overall I was very pleased with how Dior Show handled my meltdown.

When I'm applying it, I feel like I'm doing something that's going to last all day and make me look super chic into the night. My whole face changes when I put this mascara on. I can't say that about any of the others I've used. That's powerful.
