Saving Mr. Banks wasn't at all what I expected, it was better! I really recommend seeing this movie.

Not quite the movie I thought it would be. This is the story of P.L. Travers, the author of the Mary Poppins books. For more than 20 years, Walt Disney promised his young daughters he would make a movie based on the book. The movie shows PL Travers as a young girl in Australia and the enormous influence her own father had on her life - and made into a character in her book, Mr. Banks himself. Mrs. Travers grew up into quite the curmudgeon who butts heads with Walt Disney and his staff on more than one occasion. Slowly she begins to trust and magic on film is made.
