I love using dry oil for my hair so I was super excited to try Dove's Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Hair Treatment with African Macadamia Oil. I evenly applied the oil to my damp hair and let air dry like I usually do. It was noticeably smoother and shinier once it dried. It looked a lot healthier and didn't feel as dry as it usually does. It felt moisturized and wasn't as frizzy as usual. I flat-ironed my hair once it was dry and I didn't need to use any other hair products.

I have tried this product with and without conditioner and feel that it does not makemy hair look so gresy to early so love it!! Also I am already a big fan of Dove product I use soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hair Mouse all the time. This is first time to use oil treatment from Dove and have to say it will be another product on my list!!!

I'm in love with the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Hair Treatment. It feels thick when applied in the palm of your hand, but it soaks right into the hair, making it feel soft, look shiny and it doesn't feel greasy, nor sticky or weighed down. This is my new HG hair product. I have curly/frizzy hair and it completely tames it, adds shine, smooths, and restores the moisture.

It has a very strong fragrance, too much for a hair product. It left an oily residue and seemed to increase the amount of static in my hair. Not my favorite product & would not purchase in the future.

This macadamia oil comes in a glass pump-style bottle. According to Dove, this non-greasy formula with high nourishing properties is "designed to instantly help replenish lipids, soften and add shine for silky, smooth hair.”

The Good:

Dove Pure Care Dry Oil With African Macadamia Oil:
- is great for repairing damaged ends
- leaves hair feeling soft and silky
- makes hair looks shiny and well nourished (especially when used just before flat-ironing!)
- provides a professional-quality treatment
- immediately absorbs into hair
- does not leave hands feeling greasy after application
- smooths flyaway or damaged ends

The So-So:

The scent is a little strong but gives one the sensation of being on a Caribbean vacation. According to the ingredients, the product is made from a mix of macademia, coconut, sweet almond, and sunflower seed oil. It also includes added fragrance. I think I would've enjoyed the smell better had Dove stopped after sweet almond oil, but effectiveness of this product outweighs this smell and the aroma dissipates quickly.

Bottom Line:

At an average price point of $11.99, this macadamia oil is an exceptional value. A couple drops was all that was needed to immediately restore the health of my hair.

Tip: Apply some throughout your hair before blow drying. As the oil heats up from the blow dryer it distributes more evenly throughout and improves the saturation into the hair.

I LOVE this stuff! When I first used it, I was worried it would make my hair greasy like the countless other products I've tried in the past. But I was very surprised at how light it actually was on my hair. I have EXTREMELY dry hair, especially in the winter, it's almost unbearable! I put a few pumps (about 4-5) in my palms, rubbed them together and then distributed it throughout my hair. My hair LOVES this stuff! Had to get used to the scent though. Nothing wrong with it, just a little strong. It also works amazing as a hand moisturizer as well. No need in letting it go to waste after you finish rubbing it in your hair. You may as well rub it into your hands instead of washing your money down the sink trying to get it off. I will definitely buy this product again.

I love a good hair treatment. Lately, I have been using Argan Oil but this African Macadamia Oil has replaced that in my beauty regime This is more than just a pretty bottle. The oil is light and feels soft on the hands. Just a couple drops in my hands worked into my hair from the ends to an inch below the root after I shower leaves my hair soft and shiny.
I have found I need a lot less product to get the look I want and a little goes a long way!

Never ever did I think I would like a hair oil. My hair is fine and thin and weighed down by pretty much everything. This hair treatment made my hair so silky and smooth without causing it to feel greasy. I even received comments from my coworkers about how good my hair looked. This product makes my hair so soft! I use it on the ends of my hair after every shower and when my hair dries it is soft afterward. My hair is medium thickness and semi-curly, but I straighten it everyday so this product really helps since it sees heat everyday.

It's very easy to massage the oil through your hair from mid-length to tip and the oil feels non-greasy.

Performance:
Dove's Pure Care Dry Oil With African Macadamia Oil did a great job of nourishing my hair. I could see the benefits of the oil after just one use. The oil left an attractive shine on my hair, and my hair was smooth to the touch without feeling greasy.

Criticisms:
There's nothing negative I can say about Dove's Pure Care Dry Oil With African Macadamia Oil except that it would be nice if it were priced under $11.99 a bottle.

The Verdict:
Our household infrequently uses oil hair care treatment products, so I would classify Dove's Pure Care Dry Oil With African Macadamia Oil as a bit of a "nice-to-have" or luxury product. That being said, this oil does a great job of nourishing your hair, leaving it feeling silky smooth and looking shiny. Therefore, I have no reservations about recommending it.
