I had an opportunity to try the Dove Beauty Bar for free thanks to the review club. After using the product for 2 weeks I'm sorry to say it wasn't all it was hyped up to be. I found there to be no substantial difference in this "new" incarnation of the iconic Dove bar soap. The bar still leaves skin feeling clean and soft but, the perfumes are quite strong and tend to linger on the skin. I would recommend Dove bar soap to my friends- just the unscented version.

I found that my skin felt very dry after using this soap. I didn't like the smell, it was quite strong and not very pleasant. Compared to other soaps that claim to be moisturizing this just did not quench my skin. I would not switch to this soap or recommend it to a friend.

The bar is a great shape. Easy to hold and seemed to really last in the shower. The soap itself did not lather well but did seem to rinse clean off. It was great for shaving with the added lotion. My husband was not very fond of the scent.

the scent is a bit strong and is a lil expensive. nice big bar tho.. will buy it when on sale

I received this product to try and have been using it for a few weeks now. It lathers well and leaves my skin feeling very soft. I don't normally use scented products so found the smell a bit too strong for my liking.

I was super psyched to try the Dove Beauty Cream Bar, especially since recently my skin kept breaking out and I thought for sure this would be the best thing to use. Honestly, it didn't. While its an average soap, it didn't really do anything special, my skin was still breaking out, and still just as dry after a shower. Maybe its my skin type, but if its supposed to be a universally good soap, it just wasn't working for me.

Also- I didn't love the smell, yes it was pleasant. But the packaging alone was very overwhelming - great to keep your jackets smelling fresh, but not the scent I would go for.

Still leaves my skin dry...nice smell to it..maybe that is why it leaves it dry????

The smell is way too strong, even when you aren't in the bathroom you can still smell the soap, not good for sensitive people.

I initially was excited to try this product because of all the Dove advertisements about it's new beauty cream bar.

I have very dry skin and I always use moisture rich products. When I used the Dove Bar I found that it made my skin much tighter, even after I moisturized. I was very uncomfortable that night after my shower. The smell was also very overpowering, which was strange to me because when one thinks dove i think
natural/lightly scented.

One positive about this product is that it lathers very well, and you do feel clean after using this product.

I would not recommend this product for those who have dry skin, but for other skin types it might work.

I’ve pretty much always been a plain soap and water girl. I always, always use moisturizer on my face after washing my face though, because the soap does make my face feel tight afterwards. So I was excited to try the Dove Beauty Bar to see if it made a difference.

It did! My face felt nice and soft after using it, and though I did put on my moisturizer afterwards, I didn’t feel this huge rush to do it, like I usually do with using soap and water.

I was disappointed however, in the lack of suds that the bar produces. Maybe I’m just too used to sudsing up a bar of soap, but the Dove Beauty Bar didn’t make a whole bunch of suds, and I actually had to wash my face twice to get a clean feel and make sure all of my makeup was off.

Overall, I do like the Dove Beauty Bar and I like the idea that it’s gentler on my skin. I probably will stick with my plain soap and water routine in the long run though, as it’s more convenient and quicker.
