I received this to review from Chick Advisor. I was taken aback right away from the scent when I opened the package from being mailed, so I left it a day to air out. I still found the scent too strong for my liking, and my skin wasn't any different from using it. I won't be buying this on my own, it wasn't anything that wowwed me into wanting to continue using it on my skin.

I've used Dove in the past but received a sample from ChickAdvisor to try it out again. I have to say I was very leery at first because of the fragrance when I opened the package. Hoo Boy it was strong. A nice smell to be sure, but very strong and started sneezing promptly lol. Personally I didn't find more or less effective than any other bar soap I have used in the past. Also pleased that the strong fragrance wasn't as strong when I used in the shower. Its a good product and if I need bar soap, see this on sale I'd buy it.

i wasn't that impressed by the soap. The scent was great and lathered up nice but it felt like a residue was left on my skin after.

I have only tried this product a couple of times as it does not seem to agree with my skin. I have extremely sensitive skin and am unable to use many products because of this. I am sure that this product is great but not for me.

I found the smell of the product too strong but decided to try it anyway. After using it in the shower the scent didn't seem that strong but it did not agree with my skin. My skin felt dry and itchy after using it so I stopped using it after the second time.

With that being said this does not mean that the product is not good it's just not right for me. Like mentioned above my skin is extremely sensitive and I have a hard time with a lot of products. I do not want to lie and say I loved it as I feel it's only right to give your honest opinion. Thanks for the opportunity again Chick Advisor.

I received this soap from ChickAdvisor as a part of their product review club. I am going to be completely honest and say I did not even use this product. This was for one reason: the smell. It was so strong and overpowering even through the packaging that I had to hide it away in a cupboard because it was giving me a headache. I am not the kind of person that ever gets irritated by smells, and usually I like products with strong smells, but something about this one was so obnoxious that I could not even bring myself to use it and smell like that all day. I am sure the soap works well, and maybe the smell will be a plus to some people, but for me it just did not work.

I'm a big fan of Dove's products and overall beauty philosophy. I was excited to try the beauty bar. The first thing you notice about this product is the INTENSE smell, and unfortunately, it's not a scent I enjoy. I decided to use one of the bars as a hand soap and another in the shower. With regular use on my hands, I noticed a definite drying effect. In the shower, I enjoyed the lather, since I don't get that with my usual body wash. It wasn't overly drying on my body, but I didn't see an increase in moisture either.

Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend the Dove beauty bar based on my experiences. My daughter, on the other hand, likes the smell and washes her face with the bar. So, it gets one thumbs up and one thumbs down.

Because I like the Dove Baby Bar with its light, fresh scent, and I also like the Dove senstitive skin bar, I assumed this would be the same only more moisturizing for my skin and I also assumed it would smell the same as the "original" deodorant and shampoo, which I use all the time.

I was quite mistaken in my assumptions. The moment I opened the plastic envelope (I hadn't even opened the box of soap yet!) I began sneezing from the heavy fragrance added to it.

I gave my Dove 'white' bar to a friend who does not suffer from allergies and she liked it well enough, and had no problems with the product. However when I arrived at her place to drop it off she even commented that she could smell it through the package and that it seemed to have a stronger smell than she remembered Dove having years ago.

Normally I am a huge fan of Dove products and rely on them as part of my daily care routine because of their gentleness but this soap goes in the same category as the "nourishing oil conditioner" and the "Go Fresh: Energizing" deodorant and spray which also all contain heavy, chemical fragrances that I am extremely allergic to.

In the future I will stick to the Baby Fresh Scent Bar or the sensitive bar.

I was pleased to be part of the Product Review Club testers for the Dove Bar. I was excited to use this as I have a family with dry skin. I have to say while it is a good mositurizing soap, the scent was so overpowering that my daughter could not use it. I most likely will have to go buy the unscented bars. The bar goes down rather quickly I found but the lather is great.

I would recommed this product in an unscented bar for it's moisturizing for people with dry and or irritated skin. I love rhe company and the message they work to send out to young girls as well so I will get behind any product they put out.

The scent of the Dove Original Beauty Cream Bar is quite nice and I don't find soap residue left on my skin after using it. I did find that it is hard to work up any lather with this soap although this may be due to the fact that we have hard water. I still prefer shower gels and don't think I will be using the Dove Bar in the future.

Now onto the review. As everyone has already eluded in the previous reviews, there is a very strong soap smell that permeates through the packaging. But after about 4 days, the smell dissipates and becomes more tolerable for people with sensitive noses. The bar is smooth to the touch and lathers up just enough. My skin felt clean and soft after using the product for a week. It's moisturizing, just as the product claims to be. I'm glad I had the chance to try it out. Overall, I'd purchase it again.
