Very cute

At the current price of five dollars I definitely recommend this troll toy, but basically any amount under fifteen is a great price for this. It doesn't do anything fancy, it's simple and small, but what it does do, it mostly does well. In fact, for me the only negatives are how annoying it is to unpackage (more on that in a minute) and the fact that the hair doesn't sit really well when he's up high.

I do love that he has a place for his hair to stick through when you 'raise' the panel so he can look out of the periscope, but in practice the hair has to be pulled through and sits kind of weird (see pic). The periscope can be turned, but his face doesn't actually turn that well in the limited space.

However, looks-wise and quality of this cheap toy is brilliant! All the designs are cute, true to the source movie and well-made with no visible flaws, overspills, tears or anything else bad. We loved, loved, loved the cute glow in the dark element and removable backpack. By far the favourite though, which has seen more use than anything else, is that he comes with a skateboard. I do wish he had two feet stuck to the skateboard, but we didn't have any falling problems. Wheels are very popular and kiddies love to roll him around on his skateboard and integrate him into other play sessions.

Once again you'll need your nail clippers or small scissors to extract and cut all the tiny plastic tags tying him into the packaging. So annoying, he sits fine in the molded plastic and it's not needed, only risking you damaging him or his hair by cutting him out.

Overall, it's just a really cute, well-made toy that will be enjoyed by all sorts of kids!
