Surprisingly good for a microwave muffin

Mug cake treats have been a trend on Pinterest for the past few years, and though they are a great option for a single serving dessert there is still the same amount of prep involved as making a whole batch of muffins or a full cake.

I was recently in the grocery store and saw that Duncan Hines now offers not only mug cakes, but muffins and brownies as well. I was reluctant to try them, but I had a coupon, so I picked up a pack of their single serving blueberry muffins.

It was super easy to make, took a minute in the microwave and I was very surprised with how tasty it was! I thought it would taste gross because it smelled very eggy when I took it out of the microwave, and it definitely didn't look appetizing, but it was really good!

The texture was super fluffy like a perfect muffin and the blueberry flavour was better than most store-bought options.

I would definitely recommend trying these, next I would like to try their coffee cake option.

Not what I thought

I was super excited to try oit the Duncan Hines perfect size for one. I tried the sunrise blueberry muffin and I wasnt impressed. After putting it in the microwave for the time allotted I noticed that the top of it seems a little rubbery. I added a few extra ingredients to it and it definitely didnt make it taste any better. My kids will eat anything but they werent pleased with it either. This was definitely not what I expected it to be.
