A modern-day Romeo & Juliet story

A modern-day Romeo and Juliet story. Although, I enjoyed how real they portrayed high school life and the thoughts/feelings of being a teenager. Worth the read.

Eleanor & Park

Real. Life. This is one of, if not THE best, stories about real life high school that I've ever read. Real emotion. Realistic situations and outcomes. I was wrapped up in emotion. How would the story turn out for Eleanor and Park? I desperately hoped for a real life happy ending for them.

Eleanor and Park is my absolute favourite novel.It made me happy and sad and excited. I loved it so much. It was so different from a lot of the other YA novels out there. A must read. I demand a movie!!

I did enjoy this book, but I was a bit surprised by how young the characters were. I'd only every read one quote from it and I spoiled myself as little as possible before buying, but I think the risk paid off. One of the things that makes the book feel so real, other than the wonderful handling of Eleanor's awful situation, is the fact that the characters are fully realized, instead of feeling hollow. Their flaws make them believable. I also loved the surprise setting of the 90's, my favourite era.
