Most of these eyeshadows are pretty pigmented, but a couple of the shades are less pigmented, and these tend to be the matte ones. I do think a primer is necessary for this, as a couple shades are also on the powdery side, especially if you want a vibrant look. The included eyeliner is ok, and it works in a pinch, but doesn't last a super long time. I also don't really pay attention to the diagrams, but they are helpful for beginners. I don't really care for the mirror, I'd rather have more eyeshadows or primer in that space. I like the versatility in this palette, it works for neutral as well as bright looks.
I love my beauty book. the colours are amazing and you cant beat the price. the product is nicely pigmented and goes on perfectly
I heard about this product in a YouTube video and i really wanted to try it so i found it at Winners and bought it. Im not sure if i'm the only one experiencing this, but i find the eyeshadows are either very chalky or very loose. I don't like either texture. They're not smooth and they don't last either. I have to admit i like the colors but it just doesn't work for me. The shadows are really stiff also, they barely go on to my brush and i end up using loads of product. I just stopped using this beauty book because it was so frustrating. The price is not very good for this kind of quality eyeshadow and i don't recommend it at all.
its amazing! comes with 6 amazing eyeshadows, and eyeliner, eye primer, and instructions on how to get certain eye looks :) and all for 5-10 dollars! its recommended :)
These swatches are from ELF's Eye Beauty Books Brights. It's sorta unfair reviewing this after doing my review on NYX Runway Collection last week. I have to start off by saying...I do adore the concept of the beauty book. Really cute. Really original. I've never purchased ELF eye shadows before but I was game after seeing the unique packaging of the shadows. My very first experience with ELF eyeshadows and the quality just wasn't at all what I expected. I won't say they were horrific. They just weren't velvety or silky feeling which is kinda what I'd been used to lately. They did have some great color payoff. It also comes equipped with both satin and matte shadows.
I was very excited about a few of the colors in the palette. They are 2, 3, 4, 7, and 10. I highly highly highly recommend that you use a primer or some sort of base with these shadows because they do stain. That's something else I really hated. But at $5 a dozen, who am I to complain right? I just don't see myself re-purchasing another beauty book anytime soon.
