Amazing for kids
This is such a great fun games for kids. The way it is set up to be magical is great. I love it and use it in my pre-k class and they love it. we write letters and make it interactive.
Defiantly a new tradition
Ok so being a mom I have heard about these things for a while now but once my son turned 5 I thought now would be the perfect time to get him one. He’s now old enough to understand how this little guy works especially with the no touching rule.
I found our elf on amazon.ca for about $25.00 and he’s a blue eyed boy just like my son. The elf “arrived” the first night of December and my son was immediately hooked and in love with him. I will admit that although it’s been fun trying to find a new spot every night it has also been a bit challenging but there is always google.
This set also came with a book explaining everything about the elf and it also includes a page in the back of the book where your child can say when this tradition started and also the name they picked out for their new friend. I truly believe that this will be a yearly tradition that I will defiantly keep for as long as I can. Great idea!
Fun for the entire family!
I have been doing the whole "Elf On The Shelf" thing with my kids for the past 8 years & i swear, it was by far THE BEST investment I ever made. The scout elf comes in a sturdy box/case, which also includes an adorable storybook with beautifully bright illustrations. The book tells the story of the scout elf & explains his purpose of arriving at your home. It's a great tradition to start with your family. The excitement and joy in their eyes as they dash out of bed each morning, on the hunt to find their mischevious Elf, is rewarding enough for me! The kids love it & i must admit, I get a kick out of staging & prepping the mischevious elf each night before i go to bed.
- Elf On The Shelf really brought Christmas back to life in my home. It gets us excited & definitely keeps my kids on their best behavior because they don't want the elf to tell Santa their being naughty. To me, that's priceless! They also offer different clothing/accessories for the elves too! Adorable.
Elf On The Shelf - A Family Christmas Tradition
From the moment we purchased this item a few years ago, I knew it was going to add a special addition to our family Christmas. My daughter, who was only about 6 at the time asked repeatedly for this elf on the shelf, which at the time I had not heard about...And unfortunately, that year everyone was out of stock. So when the next Christmas season came around, I looked for it and was very happy to find it. So that year, Winters Eve flew in from the North Pole to spend Christmas with our family. The elves come in a gift pack with a book that contains a story of how the Elf On The Shelf came to be and has a special page for the naming process. Winters Eve is the name my daughter chose but we all call her Eve. Eve moves around at night to a different, sometimes funny location where my daughter must look for her and find her every morning. During the evenings when all are asleep she flies back to the North Pole to fill Santa in on how the elf's child is behaving. The child is not to ever touch the elf or it will lose its Christmas Magic and be unable to move. Sometimes Eve will leave a note for my daughter and there is a variety of clothes that are sold separately for the elf. The elf comes as either a male or female and simply consists of a little elf, all in red with a cute little face. Like I said, you can purchase additional accessories and clothing for your elf wherever these Elf On The Shelf Sets are found. It is a beautiful family tradition and one that is looked forward to by all for the entire year. The only issue is that the set is quite expensive, usually costing between 25 and 30 dollars. But it brings with it a new family tradition to be looked forward to every year.
What a great family tradition!
I have 2 kids and the Elf On the Shelf Christmas tradition is a great way to get kids geared up and excited about the holidays. It is always fun for the kids to hunt and find their elf every morning. My kids loved to name their elves and be able to talk to it. This tradition has also come up with extras that you can buy, they have clothes, pets and even games! Always fun for the kids and a little fun for the parents to be creative!
I struggle with this concept. perhaps Im not open to new traditions- but in a world of commercialism, I guess I dont like the message this portrays-- "be good because Santa is aatching through the elf, or you wont get presents". that is how I perceive it- we are all entitled to opinions.
I am also Christian so i may take a different approach(so not to kill that magic of Christmas- elf mysteriously moving in the night)- i may set up the nativity scene and have that move in the night. and focus on doing acts of kindness every day
Our boys love it they wake up every morning searching for or elf. We plan on buying two more one male and one female so our kids can take them when they move out and continue the tradition with their own kids.
I bought two of these for two of my grandkids. They loved waking up to see what he did during the night. A bit pricey but I got mine on sale.
my nephew got a kick out of all the cool things with did with this little guy this past christmas holiday!
hanging from the chandalier, driving the car to school ! haha
