I actually stumbled on Ellen by mistake. I reserved a few E-books and accidentally clicked on one of hers in error. I am thrilled I did as I had never heard of her or any of her novels and she quickly became one of my favorite Authors of all time.

Her novels are targeted towards young adults and are written in poem like verses, tackling tough, gritty, often controversial topics such as crystal meth addiction, suicide, child abuse and teenage prostitution to name a few.

Her novels leave me feeling emotionally raw and sometimes drained as I can actually feel the emotion as I am drawn into the characters turmoil and triumphs.

I highly recommend Hopkins, you wont be disappointed and I apologize for the sleeplessness nights as you wont be able to put her books down!

Ellen Hopkins is my absolute favorite author, I own every single one of her books and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a good read. Most of her books are written to look like poetry and each book contains a theme which is described using different characters in similar but different situations. The content is always mature in nature, but are relatively easy reads.
