This is my first epilator purchase after having talked about it with one of my girl friends - I was intimidated at first but I LOVE it now and have stopped shaving since. Pain is tolerable (similar to waxing and threading) and the hair growth after is definitely lessened. Also there's no mess to clean up after (like in waxing) and the rechargeable option allows you to take the epilator around cordless (ideal for traveling). The battery lasts a long time and I rarely need to charge mine. The only thing that sucks is having to wait for the hairs to grow back long enough to re-epilate as the device sometimes can catch it and sometimes can't if its too short
