ive only tried this a few times but my mo drinks it. Great substitute for meal replacement or a nice morning drink on the way to work for a quick snack.
Great substitute for meal replacement, great for on the go or anytime. i usually grab one on my way out the door. my mom drinks it every day. so delicious.
With such busy life .cant seem sit down for breakfast .so i grab Ensure and head out start my day .great meal on go .
Ensure is a great product and is also a meal replacement. I bought the strawberry with extra protein for my Grandfather when he was going through chemotherapy treatments. He loved them. I would buy 2 boxes per week for him. The chemo drained him, but the Ensure helped him get some of his strength back.
hospitals in manitoba stock these on their long term care wards and are offered as snacks and in addition to meals...this is a complete liquid meal with beneficial digestive probiotics...thought as a seniors product, they are also excellent for children as a milkshake without all the fat and sugar and i wish i had them when i was nursing my daughter because i was so hungry all the time. they are also excellent if you are like me and have low blood sugar...when i get cranky and a handy meal is not available i reach for my ensure because i am assured that the nutrition balances my cranky mood
Ensure comes in a few different types for different needs. There's SCFOS, which is a probiotic. There's the original, which is just the essential nutrients and nothing extra. There's also plus calories, plus protein and apparently a few others listed on their website but that I haven't seen in stores. Flavour wise, they come in chocolate, vanilla, butter pecan, coffee latte (I don't see this regularly, just once or twice at Walmart) and strawberry.
I've tried the SCFOS, Original and the high protein, and they all taste the same. So when it comes to the different categories, you don't have to worry about sacrificing taste. I do find though that they all have quite a bit of sugar, but they also have a lot of nutrients in them. I actually really like the chocolate flavour. With the vanilla I find I get a bad after taste and it just doesn't taste right, like there's something off about it. But chocolate is close to drinking chocolate milk, so you can't get much better than that.
One thing for sure, these are expensive and I recommend waiting until they're on sale and stocking up. You can go to the Ensure website to get coupons and when you use those coupons during sales (the cheapest I've seen them go for is $7) you can get them for about $3 for a pack of 6 which is really good. Otherwise they're normally about $13 or so.
Ensure is a nutrition on the go, different varieties for different needs ie high protein, FOS, Regular, and one other type, it has chocolate, vanilla, berry, strawberry and butter pecans flavours. It used to be packaged in metal cans, now it is in bottles comes in a six pack, go to ensure club by Abbott to get coupons.
I have Crohn's Disease and have been on liquid diets to try and minimize damage and symptoms several times. The first time I had to go on one, I purchased a case of Ensure to try and make sure that I was getting what I needed nutrition wise. I really disliked the flavour and texture, At this point, I prefer so many of the others on the market, and they often are even cheaper. Plus, the ingredients are a lot of oils and ickiness.
