I really, really wanted to like this lip balm. I love the container, the scents, and the ingredients. After using this balm for a couple weeks I found my lips were drying out. I know lots of people love this product but, unfortunately, I wasn't one of them.
I went through two of these lip balms- the lemon (yellow) and the strawberry (baby pink). On the plus side, the container is super cute, and my favorite thing about it- the domed shape of the actual balm makes it really easy to apply. To be honest though, I think that's where most of this product's appeal lies. Before this lip balm started popping up everywhere (it is in everyone's purses these days!), I remember the reactions girls would have upon seeing the egg-shaped lip balm. It's different, and it had that "gotta-have-it" factor; it was appealing! It also comes in cute colors, and it makes you want to start your own collection. When you get down to the actual lip balm, though, it's not that great. It is similar to many other lip balms, and you can get the same thing in a tube for a lower price. Also, the almost-rubbery texture of the container will attract dirt, and after a while in your bag, it becomes dirty- not so cute anymore. :(
This lip balm has a fun shape, is organic, comes in great flavours/scents, and is widely available. It has so much going for it but it just doesn't work for me. My lips are very dry and flaky thanks to southern Alberta's super dry climate. Add a tendency to pick at the flaky skin and bite my lips and I need serious moisture. While I like EOS's flavours/scents and the shape and size that make it possible to apply to both lips at once, I find the moisture just doesn't last. I will apply it five to seven times during a one-hour television show, which is ridiculous. The lip balm lasts for a long time too--despite my numerous applications, it has lasted well over a month. If you don't have chapped or dry lips, this is probably a great product. But if you need more moisture, this won't work well for you.
The Eos Organic Sphere Lip Balm wasn't one of my favourite lip balms but instead it was alright. It didn't moisturize my lips well enough and had to switch to Carmex lip balm which was much better.
I purchased the summer fruit lip balm.
I tried it and I really don't know why it is so popular?
The egg shape is odd - it takes up more room in my purse than the stick version.
It does smell great - I want to take a bite into it.
Does it work? - I dont think so, I keep on re-applying it often.
It does not feel any different than a regular lip balm.
I tried out this chapstick because of all the hype that surrounded it and all the good things I had heard but I was unimpressed with the product itself. This chapstick felt waxy to me and it didn't do much to relieve my dry lips.
I bought this due to all the hype surrounding it, but i don't find it to be a miracle product. i have the summer fruit (?) scented one and it let me down. i found the product very waxy and did not do much to save my chapped lips. after using a different stronger product this was sufficient to maintain for the most part, but i don't know if i would buy it again... i said i would reccomend it because by no means is it a bad product just not something that fits my needs!
I bought it for its looks, first one to admit that, it isnt high priced and is rather cute. As far as the lip balm it self goes, well it is average, will not help your chapped lips at all, but will help you not get them in the first place
I guess I'll just jump to the point: average.
This balm is just average. It has a firm texture (it has to to hold it's cute spherical shape) and applies in a really thin layer. To get a good amount on you have to really go over your lips a few times. The balm is okay, it does moisturize, but you have to apply it pretty frequently. The scent is great (I have summer berry) and the shape is totally unique and fun. I still use mine, but I don't reach for it when my lips are in need of major moisture.
