Ladys Night Eye Shadow Palette by Essence
Not only are these palettes super affordable, and super pigmented, there is a colour for every outfit possible on a ladys night out! You haveyour fun colours, your bases as well as dark colours for your crease. I love this palette!!
I love Essence
I love Essence makeup products. This particular palette not only has fun, musically inspired shades but it's compact and great for those with green eyes like myself.
I find that applying the colour with a brush is not super effective. I generally use my finger because i'm able to get a lot more pigmentation that way. It's good to prime your lids first but it requires a bit of building up the colour to get the colour to really show up.
Excellent Value
I was thinking the price point of this palette (very inexpensive) would mean the eye shadows would be below par. Boy was I wrong! This is the best little set with shadows you can mix and match endlessly. I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely use this every day.
16 pans with incredible pigment. Only $9!?
Recently, the brand called Essence has released 3 new eyeshadow palettes - Spice Up Your Life, I'm With The Band, and Fairy Wings & Magical Things. Each palette contains 16 pans of shadow, and the formula for these are certainly lovely. The colour payoff is phenomenal for the price (I got mine at Shopper's for just $12cad each) and each palette offers something different. With these palettes you get a mix of matte and shimmer shades with some lovely glitter as well. My current favourite is the Spice Up Your Life palette. The shades are perfect for fall, warm with a stunning matte red and lots of peach, gold and rose gold shades. You get quite a few matte browns in different warmth and coolness.
The colours "Cyan my man", "Curry in a hurry", and "Habanero honey" are my favourites.
A tip: Some of the matte colours (very few) might be a bit powdery when applied with a brush. A quick mist for wet application really makes it "pop". For the glitter shades, I find the best pigmentation comes from packing that stuff on with your finger. The result is a gorgeous, practically foiled effect.
