Magic in a bottle

I discovered this mascara when I first started experimenting with makeup at 13 years old. I purchased it because the price couldn't be beat and I loved the design on the tube. I have very short, nubby little eyelashes and over the years I've tried hundreds of mascaras, even some of the top rated, expensive brands, and none have worked for me like Essence Lash Princess. Although you can't force short eyelashes to be as long and wispy as you see in commercials, but for what I'm working with, this mascara does a really fantastic job.

Disappointing

I've seen so many rave reviews about these mascaras and how the quality surpasses the price point. Unfortunately, I suspect it might only work well with other types of lashes (mine are short and not very voluminous on their own). Maybe with naturally long and curled lashes, this might work well. Anyway, for me, it mostly just darkens the lashes and lengthens a little bit but my main issue with it is that it smudges like crazy. None of my other mascaras (from other drugstore brands) ever smudge on me but this one from Essence ALWAYS leaves black smudges under my eye about 2-3 hours after application. I won't be repurchasing any lash princess mascaras.

Not especially voluminizing but gives great definition.

Low effectiveness rating because it's a "voluminizing" mascara and it does not voluminize. You can't really build up the formula. I was disappointed initially, but after using it more, I do like it for a more subtle mascara. It gives good definition and separation of lashes, the brush is a nice shape for pushing your lashes up, and the price tag is amazing. It's better than any other mascara you can get for $4.

The best dupe!

Don't spend $30 on mascara any longer! This mascara is worth that and more at just a faction of the price. If you want gorgeous length and volume, look no further!

Awesome and affordable

This is a great mascara, provides length and volume to the lashes. Can be a bit clumpy but considering how cheap it is and how long it makes your eyelashes, it’s worth taking the extra second to remove the excess mascara from the wand!

Great product

I have been using this mascara for the past couple of years, love the results I get from it. Very affordable and makes your lashes look long. (Personally I feel it’s better than the sephora ones)

Best value mascara out there!

This is a fantastic mascara and at a $5 price point you cannot go wrong. Leaves lashes long and voluminous and there is a lot of product in the bottle.

Love this product

After picking out two higher end mascara and not being able to decide between the two I asked the sales associate at the register is she had tried either, she said she has not and told me the mascara she uses is only 5 dollars!!! I asked her to show me and it was the essence princess volume mascara that I have never heard of. I put back my high priced mascaras and decided to give this one a try. I love this mascara it is not super thick and sticky like some it goes on smooth and leaves my lashes long and not stuck together, only con I have against it is throughout the day a little cake off on my skin but if you carry a q tip in your makeup bag this could easily clean up throughout the day if need be!! I will be buying this mascara again!!

Cannot beat the price

Eccense always delivers on a good deal. This mascara is so cheap and very effective. I live this mascara. I only wish that it was waterproof and didn't flake but in terms of volume and length it checks the boxes.

this product does not get enough attention i think. its so affordable, great quality and works amazing. i love this mascara as it gives me great length and volume.
