I just find this base coat OK. It works well enough to prevent my polish staining my nails, but I have noticed that this base coat seems to reduce my nail polish life. I am prone to faster chipping on my polish. This only happens when I use this base coat, no matter what polish I've used. I don't think I would repurchase this base coat.

There has been a lot of hype around Essie nail polishes that I thought I would give their Base Coat (which claims to be suitable for top coat) a try. The product wasn't as great as I thought and my nail color started to chip and fall off. I think Opi's and Rimmel's nail polishes do a better job keeping the nail and nail color for longer periods of time. If you cut your nails shorter, perhaps the chipping may lessen.
