When I first bought this, it worked great. It still does work relatively good, however, I find that the product has lost the same texture it had when I first purchased it. It is not very old, maybe a few months old, and the product has thickened over time. It is getting very difficult to use. It is too thick to spread on the nails, and from time to time, it will dry with tiny little bubbles on the nail. If it wasn't for the bubbling, and texture change, it actually does look and feel like a gel nail without exposing your skin to the UV lights and glue that fake nails bring. It shines great, helps keep the polish on longer, and looks great!

If you want a salon quality (and maybe better) mani this is the product you NEED. My manicures last all week with no chips, no problems! I combine it with drying drops and it looks likes my nails just left a salon! Fast drying and long lasting!

Nothing better than Essie gel setter. I swear by it and get compliments all the time like "is that shellac" or "who did your nails" the answer is no, it's gel polish and I did it at home.

I was very excited about this product- the name totally lured me in. I didn't find it any more special than just wearing a top coat, though. So it is a good top coat but didn't act any differently or "gel-like" beyond that.

I really wanted to love this product. I have been looking for a durable nail polish for ages and its just not happening for me!
I work with my hands all day long making jewellery so i may be harder on my nails than most others.
I have tried the gel setter with an essie brand base coat and colour, and I have tried it with an other brand as well. Its really made no difference in durability. Within 2 hours my polish was chipped and I was reaching for the remover.

If you are easier on your hands than I am, this product may work well for you.
It goes on smoothly, dries quickly and has a beautiful high gloss sheen.

I think its worth a shot, but it doesn't work miracles.

With a lot of nail Polishes for me they end up chipping off within 12hrs. This one last a longer time.

Essie is my go-to brand for nail polish.
I have a gel lamp because I love how long gel nail polish lasts yet I was confused when I could never buy gel Essie nail polishes.

This product has solved the dilemma. No lamp required, no new polishes required.
I can use all my regular Essie polishes and top with the gel setter for a gel quality nail.
No curing time under a lamp. Healthy nails. Quality is great.

Apply regular polish, as many coats as required (I probably did 3)
Top with Gel Setter (1-2 coats as required)

Highly recommended if you are an Essie fan!
