Essie has been my go-to for nudes and pastel colours for a while. I feel like this is really where they excel. They generally go opaque in 2 coats and with a strong topcoat, they last for a long time. I haven't really tried many of their shimmery colours, but I've found that they aren't as strong as their solid colours. I love to pair an Essie nail polish with a gel topcoat. When I do this, I can generally get at least a week out of the nail polish, and I'm not easy on my nails, I pick at them a lot, so this is a long time for me! I buy them when Shopper's Drug Mart puts them on sale, that's the best time to get them!
I've always heard a lot of hype about Essie nail polishes, so naturally, I had to try for myself. Every time I use their nail polishes they chip the next day. Whether I get my nails done at the salon or at home, my nail polish is peeled off completely by the week.
I really wanted this product to work, as they have an amazing colour section. Unfortunately, it just doesn't get the job done for me.
I own this entire collection, and it is by far my favorite ones! Essie to me is the most reliable, reasonable, and well priced nail polish. It doesn't chip on my until at least a week! I want every nude, pink and dark shade out there! I purchase mine from walmart or Shoppers
I really love essie nail polishes for their classic minimal packaging and the great product inside. I find that the Essie polishes last longer than any other polish I've used, even without a top coat. Love the colour selection and appreciate that they stick to the basics. The only down side is the price.
Lorsque j'ai entendu parler des produits pour les ongles Essie, j'ai tout de suite voulu m'en procurer. J'en possède 2 ou 3, et j'adore l'effet qu'il fait au ongle. Super bien !
I adore the Essie packaging. Very clean and gives you all the information you need to know about what makes it unique. I love the subtlety and delicateness of the color! I purchased laven-dearly, which is perfect for the upcoming spring season! It was a smooth easy application as with all of the brands other products. It took a bit longer to dry then normal, and I recommend a couple coats! I've been wearing this color for a while now and have had to apply a couple times but that's normal with wear and tear. My nails definitely are changing though - they feel stronger, they're not peeling anymore which is amazing! And it's Essie, a brand so many know and trust and I'm so thrilled that they have a strengthening version of nail polish - I can't wait to see what shades they release next!
There are a lot of pros and cons to the Essie nail polish line in my opinion. The pros are that, it's available at many retailers, the price is very reasonable and amazing if it goes on sale, and there are a lot of REALLY nice colour options that other brands can't match. The cons are that it is not the best quality, I have found it chips easier than some other higher end brands such as OPI. I also find that I have to apply at least 3 coats each time which makes it take forever to paint my nails (though this does depend on the colour).
On connait toutes la notoriété des vernis Essie, mon seul bémol est les couleurs foncées. Je ne trouve pas que ça couvre beaucoup, on doit mettre 3 couches de couleurs foncées, plus la base et la top coat... ça commence à faire beaucoup et long.
I like the colour choices and the formula of Essie, it's easy to apply, and the brush is good for precise work. I've had a few of the lighter natural/beige polishes and unfortunately the colour goes yellow after a while. It also stains unusually high on the lighter colours, so a base coat is necessary. I don't know the behaviour for darker colours as most of Essie i've owned are light and neutral.
I really like the colour choices that are available in this brand. The thinner polish makes for a quicker dry, although some of the paler colours take way too many coats in my opinion. I don't have time to apply base, 4 cleats of colour and 2 of top coat plus dry time.
