I've always heard a lot of hype about Essie nail polishes, so naturally, I had to try for myself. Every time I use their nail polishes they chip the next day. Whether I get my nails done at the salon or at home, my nail polish is peeled off completely by the week.
I really wanted this product to work, as they have an amazing colour section. Unfortunately, it just doesn't get the job done for me.
On connait toutes la notoriété des vernis Essie, mon seul bémol est les couleurs foncées. Je ne trouve pas que ça couvre beaucoup, on doit mettre 3 couches de couleurs foncées, plus la base et la top coat... ça commence à faire beaucoup et long.
I love how this brand has a wide selection of colours . The only thing I dislike about it is that it chips after 2 days . Dry time on the polishes are really quick as long as you remember to put multiple thin coats ! For the price it's reasonable
I like Essie nail polish, however I find that it does chip easily, I was disappointed with this because they can be pretty expensive. However, I found that if I used a gel top coat (pure ice) on top the polish lasted a lot longer without chipping. I think the thing that I like the most about Essie nail polish is the variety of colours that are available, especially the pastel colours. My favourite colour right now is Bahama Mama!!
For $10 nail polish this stuff should be great but it is just average and works about as good as nail polish that they sell at dollarama. Colours are nice and they have a good variety but there is nothing special
I find this nail polish to be expensive for what it's worth. I am quite disappointed because I love the colour range that Essie carries. But whenever I purchase an Essie nail polish although I love the colour, I can only enjoy it for a day before it peels off! This nail polish doesn't even get the chance to chip because it peels off extremely easily in one or two pieces after only a day of wear. Due to this, I might as well just buy a cheap brand and formula if it's only going to last a day. I also find the nail polish oxidizes and goes clumpy in the bottle causing bubbles in my nail application much quicker than my other polish brands.
Essie's polishes are a hit and miss for me. I believe you definitely have to do some research before buying a color. For example, Turquoise & Caicos is a beautiful color but the formula is so runny and doesn't even reach full opacity after 3 generous coats. But then a color like Lion Around or French Affair apply like a dream! Nails look smooth and opaque in two coats. Their "luxe effect" glitters are some of my favourite glitter polishes.
In terms of staying power, a good top coat is key. Seche Vite or Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Invisible have worked well for me.
I also feel like they are overly priced so definitely look out for a sale...unless you absolutely need a color (we've all been there ladies)
I have bought a few of these nail polish as they seem so great but really they don't surprise me! I feel like they take forever to dry. Once it's done it looks nice for a couple of days but they don't last that much...at least not on me. It's just so easy for me to litteraly peel them off! So I never get them for the regular price only on sale and because they have very nice colors.
I find that their formulas are very hit or miss. Not sure if it's depending on the season, but I find that some of them are amazing and other's are so sheer that there is no possible way to build up to a fully opaque finish. I very much like their nail treatments, base and top coats.
When I first got into nail polish, I really liked Essie and bought a ton of it. As time goes on, I realize that they're formula can be pretty hit and miss. I would rather spend my money on a brand with a more consistent formula. That said, they do have some pretty killer colours!
