Essie is a great brand! I have around 15 or so shades, and use them regularly. There are so many beautiful and unique shades. The bottle is chic and cute, and these are a very long wearing nail polish.
Sable Collar is a part of her Winter 2013 nail polish collection and the collection is filled with rich, dark tones with a few pastels to bring more light into the collection. Essie Sable Collar ($10 CAD for 13.5ml/0.46 fl oz) is a describe as a luxurious pearlscent cocoa plum. It is cool toned reddish brown with warm purple micro shimmer running through it. Overall, I really enjoy this colour and formula by Essie and I will be purchasing more of it in the future.
I like the unique shape of the bottle and the price. I have the pink and green ones, very pretty and wears well. Wish they made bigger bottles of their stuff tho !
I think the price is a little high (because you want to buy as many shades as possible ha!). I like the cute names. I think the staying power is between a week to two weeks. Usually one coat works. There is no detectable smell.
Je n'aime pas ce vernis, car je dois faire 3 ou 4 couches pour qu'il recouvre complètement. De plus, il ne tient pas longtemps. En plus, il est quand même cher. Seul point positif, l'évantail de couleurs!
I do not recommend this product. The nail Polish is very watery and I takes way too many coats to get the right colour. It also does not stay on for very long
One of my favourite brands of Nail Polish but unfortunately I do not purchase it often as it retails for approximately 10.99$ although usually goes on sale for 7.99$ that still seems much for Nail Polish when most are regularly 7.99$ or so.
I do love the colour selection, more than most Nail Polish brands offer. I also love the seasonal collection they release throughout the year but I do not like that thats the only time it can be purchased, I have often fallen in love with a colour that was only seasonal.
Some of the lighter/nude shades require a third coat which can be annoying because it prolongs drying time and work but the darker or brighter shades give me no problem when it comes to application. Also, the brush is smaller than most brushes which make it easier to apply and less likely to make a mess on the sidewalls of the nails or the cuticle if you are careful.
In Canada the average price is $9.00 a hefty piece of coin for a bottle of polish. I wish Essie offered more skin tone friendly colors, as a dark-skin nail maid (internet slang for nail polish lover) I feel that most of their light colored polishes only look good on their lighter skinned hand models. I don't think this is intentional but an overall observance of the beauty community. I will still buy from Essie but hope they can implement a chart to help all skin types find shades that suit them.
Agree with other reviewers, can be a hit or miss depending on the color. Some of the lighter colors can come off sheer and streaky, requiring many layers. Essie does make the best nudes and pinks though!
Essie is hit or miss in their limited edition colours, however their core collection is rock solid. Full of dozens of neutral colors and lots of brights to suit any taste. The bottles are elegant and practical with lovely skinny brushes that hold a lot of product. It's perfect for those of us with small, deeply curved nails.
