I love Essie's wide range of colours but they take a bit longer than usual to dry and chip within the first day.

I have a love/hate relationship with this brand of nail polish. On one hand, I absolutely love their colour selection. So pretty! On the other hand, a lot of the polishes are quite difficult to apply and require many coats, sometimes more than 3. A top coat is a must with these polishes or they will chip after a day or two. The prices really varies, as well, depending where you buy them. I only purchase these when they're on sale.

Although essie provides beautiful colors, I find this deceiving for the price you pay. enamel starts chiping after 1-2 days even with a top coat.

Now, when i find a shade i really like, I try to find a similar one in another brand

I really like Essie nail polishes, they are slowly coming to Canada, for awhile, I could only get them in US. The have tons of shades, and for some odd reason I really like the bottles.

They last a decent time, 2-3 days before chipping (I am not always super careful with my hands). They also go on smooth and look good on the nail.

My only con for these nail polishes is the price (around $10), which is why I only own a few. I like variety and I feel they are too pricey to buy a whole bunch.

I recently picked up the blue neon polish "DJ Play that Song" from The SuperStore. The collection was on sale at $7 each. When I sampled the colour on a white sheet, I liked that it was very pigmented, had a matte quality, and true to the bottle, BUT... when I applied it on my nails, it wasn't as opaque as I wanted it to be and not at all like the sample. I was disappointed by the quality. The formula was very runny and went on transparent. The first coat was streaky and I doubt it was from the brush. It took me 3 coats just to get it close to the bottle colour. It dries like a sharpie/ washable marker. I even tried a white base coat first but the blue picked up the white and still resulted in the marker effect. On the plus, it is fast-drying. Overall, I didn’t favor this because of its inconsistency; however, I love the colour and matte effect.

I keep buying Essie nail polishes, lured in by the awesome range of colours they offer, right on trend. But I find they chip easily and some can go on quite streaky. I like how they continually offer new colours that match the season. My current favs this season are Play Date (purple) and Orange it's Obvious. The colours are so vibrant and unique that I constantly get compliments.
