96% OF CHICKS DIG IT
Not what I expected at all
I did not like the nail polish. After 3 days it chipped off and my nails started getting brittle. I was told it would do the exact opposite. I also found that it was very dull when it dried. I tried it with and without top coat and still had the same problem. I won’t be purchasing this again. So I’m glad I got it free from chick advisor.
Pretty polish
I like that this doesn't require a topcoat or basecoat to look nice. It applies evenly and quickly. The colour selection is small, but they are nice colours. It lasted a few days without significant chipping, but after the 4th day I would need to redo the manicure.
I can't say that the health of my nails has been improved due to this product, but perhaps with long-term use you could notice a difference. I'd buy it again if there was a colour I liked, but so far there is not very unique.
Natural finish but...
I tried the color #66 Loving Hue from the Essie TLC collection, which is a shimmery light pink. It gives out a natural finish with a hint of shimmer which I like. It gives out a vibe of "my nails but better" which is very work environment friendly. The coating dries out fairly fast but I can't stand the scent of it =( I also wish there were higher concentration of collagen and camellia in the product, which was advertised in their ads.
This nail polish collection is definitely better innovation that the average mass nail polishes due to its added collagen and camellia extracts from what I understand. I still would definitely recommend to non pregnant nail lovers to use this shade if you like a natural shimmer finish and afforable nail products.
This is my first non green nail polish so please keep that in mind. I also received this product for free from the brand and ChickAdvisor in exchange of my honest opinion.
Meh
I bought this thinking that it would be a light colour that doubles as making my names stronger. The colour does absolutely nothing for the nails, someone told me it looked like my nails were stained from smoking. Yes, it makes your nails stronger, but I wouldn’t wear t by itself, definitely a colour on top.
I wanted to love this...
I really wanted to love this product...the colour, it was a treatment, the brand, all in one. But the colour went on looking clumpy, not smooth at all. Made my nails look almost messy. It had staying power but I found it did nothing for strengthening my nails (this was over a period of months). I love their regular polish and will continue to buy that but I won't buy this one again.
Sheer but cute
I received my polish in Laven- dearly & I was expecting it to be a little more opaque. It does say translucent however it’s sheen has a white cast so it doesn’t really look like someone finished their nails!
Nothing special, finish is weird
I didn’t like this product very much. The colour and opacity of the polish was fine. But I didn’t find it did anything at all for the health of my nails. I also found that the finish on the polish was weird. It was almost matte but not quite and it felt unpleasant to me. I didn’t use a top coat, I bought it when travelling and I forgot my nail stuff, and it chipped very quickly. For the price it didn’t do as well as I had hoped. I won’t buy any more of these, they just didn’t do it for me.
Love the polish, loathe the brush
As a fan of the essie brand, I was very excited to try treat, love & color based on the claim of it strengthening and protecting nails. I also love the fact that it's available in sheer and crème formulas.
I chose the shade 33 Glowing Strong, a gorgeous coral crème. This shade is so perfect for spring/summer and is flattering on my fair complexion. It will look even better with my faux summer tan!
The formula itself is good (didn't chip for at least 3 days) however application was not so great - the brush applied the polish streaky. A second coat didn't help and it was very obvious that application went poorly.
I can't say for sure what the long term effects are, but I will say that my nails felt stronger while I was wearing this polish.
I want to try another shade to see if application is the same. If it is, I won't buy another. If it's not, I will likely buy a few more shades!
Oh and shipping of the product from Amazon was incredibly slow. If I were to purchase it again, it would be from a physical store.
I received this product as a gift
Strengthen nails but...
* Disclosure: I received this as a gift.
I'm a fan of essie nail polishes, their colours and names are always creatively amazing! My nails usually look healthy but they peel/chip easily. This essie Treat Love & Color seems to have helped my nails - it has only been a couple of days since I applied the nail polish but I can feel my nails not being so weak. The colour "In A Blush" is a white-pink creme shade and I absolutely love it.
The one thing I didn't like about this product was that the brush created streaks. The only way for it to not show any streaks is if you apply 3-4 coats, which kinda made my nails feel "heavy".
Overall, if the brush was better I would definitely repurchase. That being said, I do love the formula and how base and top coat isn't needed and of course the colours from this Treat Love & Color collection.
Stronger nails...yes, lasting colour...no.
I was very excited to try Essie's new Treat Love & Colour nail polish (which I received as a gift), as it claims to give you stronger nails in just 1 week, 60% less peeling and 35% less breakage. As someone who suffers from thin, brittle nails, I was hoping that this product would be exactly what I've been looking for.
Unfortunately, for me, it didn't live up to its claims. While I did notice that my nails were slightly stronger, I continued to suffer from peeling after taking it off.
I was really impressed by the assortment of colours available (I tried the power punch pink), but I was less impressed by the quality of the nail polish itself. The application was very easy and smooth, however, after only 3 days, the polish started to peel off. My nails looked really good for a few days, but then I had to remove it after only 5 days, since it was chipped everywhere.
Usually I really like Essie nail polish, but this new product did not live up to my expectations. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this nail polish.
