Great Alternative to Traditional Pasta
I was looking for a good pasta replacement, found this and just love it. It's become a staple in my diet, I use it in dishes like pastas (obviously), but also stir-fries or curries or when I would have eaten rice. Just boil it up in salted water for 3 min and drain. Don't overcook! The cooked pasta keeps well in the fridge. It is really filling, as well as being low calorie, high fibre and healthy for me. I can't be happier I found this.
Not for me
Tried this Organic Edamame Spaghetti from Explore Cuisine provided through the @sampler.io program. So to start this pasta is high in protein at 42g per serving. It's #gluten free #dairyfree. #vegan #organic #kosher.
I made the whole box for 2 people because ot did not look like that would even be enough...I was wrong! This made at least 4 really good size portions. The box seems to be about $5-7.00 based on an online search. I did not find it at my local walmart or no frills but have not checked other places yet. Myself, I don't love the price point. I don't feel it would be affordable if feeding a family. Its was quite fast to cook about 4 minutes. Being a newbie on trying this type of pasta I wasn't big on the texture felt rubbery to me. When I asked everyone to try it we all agreed it had a very soy earthy flavor to it. I found that taste personally too strong. Now this type of plant based pasta is a new thing in our home in an effort to eat more #sustainable and #plantbased foods. It may take some getting used to; unfortunately we are not likely to purchase this in the future.
