This journal would make a gorgeous gift for those who want an authentic looking leather journal either for traditional reasons or as a prop. It has a ton of pages, so as a journal would last a long, long time. Unfortunately I feel like page thickness has been sacrificed a bit to give it more pages and I personally prefer a thicker more natural looking page. However, the paper used here does take ink well and has a lovely texture to the touch, with just a little bit of natural roughness.

The leather is lovely and supple and doesn't have an overly leathery smell, for those with sensitive noses. I do wish the front and back pages were covered where the pages attach as opposed to just being glued on, but this has a more rustic feel if that's to your taste.

This is a great quality journal with a huge amount of pages for the price, great for anyone who likes a natural leather look.
