Great value and a lot of fun!

Very good toy! Unlike some of the more expensive toys I've tried, this has a really good amount of things to do, audio and even without all of those things it has the imagination angle. It must have more than 8 different phrases on both the button and the crank, some of them are songs and some are a sentence or two, focusing on either rescuing or caring for the animals. My little testers really had a lot of fun and us adults were able to enjoy the animal care angle that helps to instill a sense of empathy and kindness in still-learning children.

Another feature for us adults to appreciate is that the whole caboodle folds together (imagine pushing the yellow house and red house in (hinges on the tree) so it makes a smaller sort of squarish shape. Much easier for storage. It can also be hooked onto other sets in the range to create a long chain of toys (almost like a town)

We would love if there was a girl firefighter figure too, as it shows on one the box and one of my mini-testers has an uncle who's a firefighter and wants to be one when she grows up so would love a lady firefighter. Overall, it's not a dealbreaker though and it's nice that there's a girl figure included at all!

This is a great toy because it has some 'action' buttons and enough audio sounds that it won't become immediately repetitive, but also because it has two different little areas that will stoke the imagination of your toddler as they play 'rescue' or 'rescue shelter'. I also like the soft fabric leaf section, which adds some sensory feedback, especially for younger kids.

This is suitable for ages 1 - 5 and comes with batteries (hurrah)!

Quality and Induces Imagination!

This is a stinking cute playset that both my nieces and husband enjoy playing with!

The quality of the plastic pieces and the actual rescue building is quite good, and has no sharp corners or pieces that are so small that the twins (almost 4 years old) are safe playing with them.

They twirl the helicopter propeller, make fire engine noises while pushing the engine, love rescuing the dog and cat, bathing the animals, and talking as the little people too.

The ladder on the fire engine moves up and down (and hasn't pinched any fingers yet), there is a fun button that activates the light, makes sounds, and plays music and even phrases - this drives me bonkers as the kids just press the button over and over again, but it's keeping them busy.

There is also a cool light on top of the firehouse that the kids seem to get a kick out of.

Overall, it's not the Little People I played with as a child, but it's definitely a lot more interactive and still allows the kids to be creative and use their imaginations.
