My newborn loves this chair! Unlike some of its counterparts, this chair is compact enough to transport with us to the grandparents house, and keeps my son entertained and calm for hours! I also love the fact that my one month old can use it now, and it's will carry him through right to the toddler years. I think for what it is, the regular price of $80 is a little steep but it often goes on sale at toys r us and I was able to pick it up during a sale. The fact that you can also use it for years makes it worth it, but the chair runs exclusively on D cell batteries so that cost will add up ( or you can rock it with your foot manually). Overall, I would buy this product again and be confident in giving it as a gift to another expectant mother.
