Flora
The Flora plant based unsalted spread was not for me. It tasted neutral and had very processed ingredients. Over priced for the spread. Need more flavour, less oily, and less processed ingredients such as the modified palm and palm kernel oil, and sunflower letchithin.
Good vegan butter
I received this as a sample. Good vegan butter alternative. Adds that buttery flavour. What’s even better; it’s made in Canada. Go and try it yourself.
plant based!
the best past of this butter is the fact that it is plant based but still works great in any dish! it was nice to see that grocery is slowly turning into a healthy but safe space for everyone- especially vegetarians/vegans.
Not bad as butter
I did not like the taste, but i used it for my pancakes and omelettes. It tasted good, not bad. I would recommend as this is plant based. Good for vegetarians
Average butter
I got the chance to try out this product from chickadvisor. Truly speaking I was very excited to try out this product as I am trying to add a lot of vegan options to my diet but this butter is not at all close to butter. It tastes more like greasy margarine. Being plant based I thought it must have a good plant based fat from sources like almonds, avocados etc but I was very disappointed to see palm oil as main ingredient which I am not a fan of.
If a person is vegan and have no other options then this can be the product but I would rather something with healthy fat.
IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND
I have to say, the amount of gas I used driving around trying to find this product definitely contributed more negatively to the environment than any positive impact I could have had by choosing a plant-based product! I couldn't buy it again simply because I can't drive all the way to another city just to find it in one grocery store with limited supply. As for the actual taste - it wasn't bad. I used the unsalted (the only one I could find after a month of looking!) product on popcorn and in some muffins I made. The muffins came out a bit drier and more crumbly than usual - I've had this issue with most plant butters I've tried as I think the lack of fat causes issues holding the dough together. The popcorn topping was fine, I'll be using more of it for that. I also don't like that the main ingredient is palm oil. If you dig deep into the product's website, you can find one paragraph about how they're using sustainably sourced palm oil, but with the amount of greenwashing out there about "sustainably" using problematic ingredients, I'd rather avoid palm oil altogether. None of the sustainability marketing is on the packaging either, which I find suspect as you'd think they'd really want to highlight that.
I've tried many products that I #gotforfree from #ChickAdvisorReviewClub, but this has got to be one of the most disappointing overall, especially if it was for #EarthMonth
Decent alternative to butter
This is a decent alternative to those who may have dairy sensitivities and/or simply want a substitute for butter. It tastes better than margarine and other substitutes that I have tried, but considering the price and overall value, I would personally opt for real butter!
It was just ok.
I tried the brick on several dishes over several days but I wasnt impressed really. It was basically just ok. Nothing that I would switch my current choice for.
Flora Plant-Based Unsalted Bricks
I recieved a free voucher for this product from ChickAdvisor in exchange for my honest review. The product was great for breakfast recipes, but it was extremely difficult to find in stores.
Plant-based butter
I receive this product for free in exchange of a review. We tried this butter is plant-base so if you can't have dairy, this product is great for you. You can use for spreading, cooking and baking. The butter taste and feel so smooth. Great alternative to margerine or butter made with dairy
