I received this Camera for free from Chick Advisor and Fujifilm through a contest. I was soooo happy to have my idea chosen and want to thank everyone involved.

When I received the camera my first impression was that the sleek new look in the piano black finish was really appealing. Fujifilm really updated the look and feel of the old Polaroid.

The camera itself is a big compared to the digital cameras that we're used to. Throwing it in a purse to take out with you to a party or putting it in your pocket is a bit difficult with it's big square size.

The camera itself is very easy to use and has some neat little features like self timer to take two pictures at once or even two shutter buttons to take both portrait or landscape pictures.

The film itself is easy to put into the camera and is covered so you don't have to worry about exposure to light. I have not run out of the film I received yet but I checked on Amazon.ca and film will run you about $20 for a 2 pack, which breaks down to $1 a picture.

This camera is a great update for anyone with an outdated Polaroid or for anyone looking for an instant camera. The picture quality that prints is amazing and very bright.

Thank you so much for choosing me the winner of this amazing camera. The Instax is great for easy and fast sharing photos, makes amazing photo shots/head shots, just the perfect size, I love the fact that it's a fast and instant photo share with your family and friends. Made our New Year's Eve party a huge success, we passed the camera back and forth taking many photos. It's fun to play with, it's a cool camera. Thanks! :)

I'd just like to start out by thanking Chick Advisor for sending me this camera! :D

When I first opened the camera, my first impression was that it was very sleek and clean. The black piano finish really makes it stand out.

This camera is extremely easy to use. The film is conveniently in little packages, so there are no worries about light exposure when you're changing film. It easily snaps in, and you're ready to take pictures! Something to remember is that the first picture you take is just a protective screen, so I whenever I reload, I try and just use that one up really quickly, so I don't forget about it and waste a good shot!

Something else wonderful is that it's super quick. The film instantly comes out of the top, and in a few minutes you have your picture!

For me, the size of the camera is not a big deal. In today's digital camera standards, this camera is a monster. For the size of the prints, I think this is reasonable though. I also don't find it awkward or hard to hold, which I thought may be due to its square size.

This camera also comes with a macro lens. This is a removable lens that you can use to take pictures of things closer up. I found it really cool, but I didn't really know how to use it at first. I was unsure about how much pressure to apply, but I finally lined up the groves and was able to snap it in.

All in all, I think this is a fantastic camera. I've never played around with an instant camera, so I have no idea how it compares to a Polaroid, but the Instax works wonderful for me. Everything about it makes it so easy to create the cutest pictures!

I was shocked when I was picked as one of the winners in the Fuji Instax camera contest. I’d like to thank everyone ounce again for voting for me and for helping me to bring my idea of a photo family tree to life. I also want to thank Chickadvisor and Fuji, I love my new camera, thank you!!
The 2.4 x 1.8 inch pictures that the Fuji camera takes are the prefect size for head shots of each of my family members. The space left at the bottom of each picture also leaves me just enough room to tell our long lost relative who each person is and where the fallow in line on the tree. I love the piano black color of this camera, its so shinny and beautiful. The Fuji Instax Mini is so easy to use a child could take pictures with it. Although I must admit I had a bit of a hard time reading the instructions that came with it because the print was so small. But between my husband and me we were able to figure it all out. I love that there’s a self timer that lets me take two pictures at one time. I’ve never had a camera that could do that before, so it’s really fun to play with. The auto flash balances for low light situations witch really comes in handy. It has a motorized three position collapsible lens and another attachable close up lens that comes in its own little case. The close up lens can be use as close as one foot away from the subject giving you an even more detailed picture. I attached the case that came with the attachable close up lens on to the handy wrist strap it also came with so I’d always have it with me. Each box of film comes with two packages of film with ten shots in each package. How ever each box will run you about $20 a box Canadian and about $14.95 U.S. So you should be sure you have your shots set up prefect before taking them, or you could end up wasting a lot of pictures and money. We had a Polaroid camera like this Fuji Instax when I was a kid and watching each photo that I have taken so far come to life has brought back a lot of memories from those days. Those pictures were very thick and as I recall you had to peel part of the backing off to make the picture come to life. With Fuji’s improved design you don’t have to do anything. You just take the picture and watch it come to life on its own. There’s no mess and no wasted material with the Fuji Instax mini camera. I can’t wait to get our Photo Family Tree put together and sent off to England. If you’re looking for a fun new camera then check out Fuji’s Instax Mini 50S instant Camera, I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.

We had a Polaroid camera growing up it was this huge big clunky camera and the pictures were really big.I still have many of those pictures from my youth and teenage years in my photo albums and I can tell you its hard to keep the cellophane covering over those old pictures in my photo album they were thick. So what a surprise to go back in time with the revised Polaroid fujifilm instax mini 505 that I received this morning.I even went and dug out all my old photo albums to compare and this new camera is so much better and revised.I cant wait to show my family and friends.

The piano black color is really sleek and attractive.I thoroughly read all the instructions and in the end it was so simple to set up and operate. It takes credit card sized photos, two continuous photo self timer, motorized 3-position collapsible lens, and a a little case with a close up lens that's attaches to the lens(I love this added feature)I cannot wait until the spring and summer months when I can take close up shots of my flowers and plants. There is also a lightening and darkening control feature to make your pictures look perfect.

When you first take a picture there is a slide that will come out that says this is not film... discard that.So if your setting up a perfect shot be sure to get rid of that first film before taking your picture. There are ten shots per film(two packs per box) which will get you 20 shots so really think about what kinds of pictures you want to take.I really love the credit card size and was shocked at the clarity of the picture it was so clear.I think these would be perfect to carry in your wallet or purse. So small and lightweight but a very clear picture. There is also a white border at the bottom that you can write on...I would be cute to give a loved one or family member a picture with I love you written on the bottom etc.

I will be using these to make a recipe file that was my idea for the Chickadvisor contest and after testing this out this is perfect and exactly what I had in mind I will write out a recipe and take a picture and attach it to the recipe. There are so many creative ideas and things that can be done with this camera endless possibilities.I LOVE this camera and it truly is revised for the better from the old days of Polaroid.

This camera will get thoroughly used the film is a little pricey to buy but I really think its worth it to create a memory you cant put a price on that.

I want to thank Chickadvisor,Fujifilm and to anyone that voted for me.This was a wonderful gift and I will cherish it!Congratulations to other winners as well.

I just wanted to add that I remember as a kid being fascinated and loved watching the picture seem to magically appear on the film.I think kids would still love that!

** THANK YOU TO CHICK ADVISOR FOR SENDING ME THIS FOR FREEEE!! **

I know usually you review the product 2 weeks after receiving it (Just got mine in the mail!), But because I'm using mine to propose to my boyfriend, I gotta wait until January 15th ! (our anniversary, don't want him catching on to easily!)

But right after that I will review :)

    But so far,
It is really sleek, not as chunky as I thought it would be! The film comes in 10x2 containers, is really easy to use it seems, but don't want to waste my shots trying it out just yet.

Excited to use it and definitely seems like a great buy for someone for Christmas, not a bad price either! Only thing that is pricey is the film, it would be great if they came up with a 100 film package so you don't have to keep buying them!

Thanks again :) will review in the new year!!!!

SO, first off the douche was cheating and lets just leave that at that.

second! BEST camera ever! And came right in time for both my son and my birthdays! Hanukkah! And Christmas! new years was a bust but this camera is so cute and amazing!

The sleekness of the black piano is really eye catching, Ive only ever seen one old poloroid before and this was much smaller than the one I had seen. Really cool to see the "new and improved" version of it. it literally spits out your picture and is fully finished in a matter of 2 minutes! So much more fun than uploading pics onto your computer and having to get them printed! (although these pictures are alot smaller, still much more fun)

It even came with a close up lense so you can take a picture from a foot away from someones face or object and its even clearer! I love it

I received a sample of the Fuji Instax Mini Instant Cameras to test out. I love how much fun this camera is to play with.I would definitely recommend bringing one to a party or gathering because you would get the best instant photos and be able to share them instantly!

The only problem is that you want to take pictures of EVERYTHING and the film for the camera is pretty pricey. The camera itself isn't a bad deal at $130 but the film is about $20 for 10 which gets to be a lot.

I love the special features of this camera too- you can lighten, darken, add flash and it has a special setting for outside etc.

I am definitely going to try and do some fun crafts with this camera- they're cute to put on your wall, but I think I will try and incorporate them into my xmas gift giving!

It comes in a super cute case as well!

After Polaroid discontinued their line of instant cameras, FujiFilm stepped up to fill the void with their Instax Cameras. The Mini 50s is the latest product in their series of Mini Instax cameras, which also include the 7s and 25. All 3 cameras use the Instax Mini film, which are the size of a credit card and can also be found in different designs if you buy film online. (If you like bigger pictures. check out the Instax 210!)

The 50s is a nifty little gadget. I particularly love its black glossy colour (which makes it look more grown up than the 7s), as well as its small size and how it fits in my hand. The camera comes with a wrist strap, a close-up lens, and 2 CR batteries, which is basically everything you'd need to start using the camera besides the film.

What I really like about this camera is that it is easy to use. All you need to do is unwrap the film pack, fit it into the camera, and turn it on. The shutter button is at the front of the camera, which I found odd at first, but I quickly got used to it after taking a few pictures. Some other fun functions included in this camera is the ability to lighten and darken your photos, landscape/portrait mode, as well as printing out your shots twice (to share with friends). The pictures can take a few minutes to develop, but that’s half the fun of taking instant pictures :)

The only drawback from this camera is that the film itself can get pricey, as a pack of 20 shots retails for about $20. You definitely want to think about the shots you want to take before pressing down on the shutter! Still, I think the fun of taking instant pictures is worth it- you sure won’t have this much fun taking pictures with a digital camera!

Note: I was lucky to be one of the winners from ChickAdvisor's Instax Mini 50s Contest, so I got to try this camera out for free. Much thanks to FujiFilm and ChickAdvisor for this contest, and for the lovely packaging of the camera!
