Good for most cats
After doing a ton of product research, I decided to invest in the furminator for long-haired cats. It did not do a ton - it didn't take out very much fur at all, and my cat didn't like being brushed with it. Maybe it's because she doesn't have thick hair?
I had a totally different experience using it on my mom's cats, where it took out a ton of fur, and they have thick fur.
So, worth it if they have thick fur, not if they don't, I'd say.
Definitely worth it!
Can't get over how much fur this thing gets out! I was originally worried it would de-fluff my cat too much, but it really does just take out the dead fur. He loves it, too!
May be a little pricey, but works wonders. Whether it is the long haired dog brush or the short haired cat brush, this tool works wonders to stop cats and dogs from shedding all over you!
If you have been living with a lint roller by the front door, in the car, in your purse and your desk at work like I was then the Furminator is what you are missing in your life my friend! Being the owner of a border collie there is constantly hair, change of season is worse. I bought this in hopes it would help keep shedding at bay and yes it did! It's comfortable to use for owner and pet, once it is full with hair you simply press downwards on a button and the hair is pushed off the brush. No other brush can do what this one does.
Great brush and not too bad of a price. Not as smooth as I'd hoped with rushing through mats so my dog often flinches and fights it.
The Furminator works well if your pet can handle this type of brush since there are so many types, bristles, effectiveness, etc. I found this one really gets into the fur and my first dog didn't like it. Although it did work quite well at removing the loose fur. Expensive.
My labrador hates to stand still for any length of time . The Furminator allows me to get a great complete brushing in a very short period of time allowing what used to be a frustrating time for the both of us to be over quicker. Pricey , yes but definitely worth it.
I was first introduced to the Furminator through my work in animal shelters. From first use, I knew I had to have one. Eventually I was able to get one for home and it works fantastic on both my dog and cat. The only drawbacks I have is the plastic self-cleaning feature melted when I boiled my Furminator to disinfect it. Also, although this product works quite well, it is priced way to high for what it is.
This is the only brush that helps to get my German Shepherds under coat. She looks great and sheds so much less thanks to this brush.
This brush works like no other. I get a whole ball of fur when I used this on my cat. Much better than other brushes or combs that I've used!
