I got this as a part of the product review club.
The Gel brushes is honestly the most amazing innovation for me in my bathroom for my face. It was much easier to use than my hands and just holding it was so light. the brusher really stimulates the skin as well as removing all dirt and oil as well as my makeup, which is a definite plus.
There was no scent to it, but the gel formula was lightweight and felt really smooth on the skin. It goes on nicely and washes off the same way. My skin was honestly so radiant after just 2 uses of this. It was very noticeable and it just gave me that fresh looking feel. I used it over the skin just like any of my other normal cleansers .
I would definitely reccomend this product to everyone, and I'm for sure buying it again when my bottles up!
I was very lucky to receive this new product from Garnier as part of the Chickadvisor review panel. So far, my sensitive dry skin has adapted well to this gel cleanser.
I was hesitant at first to use a gel foamy cleanser for my skin as it tends to get quite "tight" feeling if I use anything that could possible strip my already dry skin. I am happy to say that this cleanser leaves me feeling clean, but not stripped of moisture.
The cleanser comes with an attached brush head that does the double duty of creating the foamy action and exfoliation. I advise first wetting the head thoroughly with water to soften those plastic bristles up. Then you only need to squeeze a pea sized amount of the cleanser into the brush head, and use small, circular motions to gently "scrub" your wet face free of makeup and dirt. The cleanser does a fairly good job of getting rid of most traces of my makeup. I would NOT recommend using this cleanser for your eye makeup, as it stung a bit when some accidentally got into my eyes. If you use waterproof makeup or sunscreen, I would recommend using an oil cleanser first and then using the Skin Renew cleanser to get rid of the oil residues.
The big plus for me with this Garnier cleanser is that it cleanses and exfoliates in one step. My face felt clean and had a nice glow after. The cleanser has a faint, but pleasant smell, and it rinses off quite easily.
L'Oreal was also very thoughtful and included the Skin Renew Radiance Moisture Cream in the review package. This is the perfect complement to the cleanser. I put the cream on after I had patted my face dry, and my skin is still slightly moist. The cream is enriched with caffeine, lycopene, and Vitamin C. It absorbed well into my skin, and did not leave it feeling greasy at all while keeping my skin moisturized.
Like the cleanser, the cream has a faint, but pleasant smell.
I will continue to use these two products in conjunction to see what the long term results are for my skin. So far, I am very impressed, and have already allowed my sister to try the cleanser out, and she, too, is very impressed and now wants one for herself.
This is a product that I would definitely recommend to others.
I was chosen to review the Garnier Skin Renew Brusher and was super excited when I received it along with an unexpected extra goodie - The Garnier Skin Renew moisture cream!!!
The Brusher is great because it exfoliates as well as cleanses and removes most makeup with the exception of mascara and water proof products.
You need very little of the cleanser, which I wasn't expecting my first try! I used a bit too much and found that it took for ever to rinse off my face.
Smell - It smells great! very fresh and light, makes you feel nice and clean when you're done!
Texture - This is definitely a compliment when I say it kind of has the same texture and thickness as palmolive dish soap. It stays on and works itself into a nice lather and you can really feel it working after the first trial.
Packaging - This is the greatest invention for the lazy gal who hates washing her face and exfoliating (aka me). I bring it into the shower and it actually makes face washing a fun experience!
A tip from me to you - After squeezing out a pea size amount of the cleanser, make sure to screw the cap back to the closed position so that when you are washing you don't accidentally squeeze out more, or get your dirty soap backwashed into the bottle :)
Overall Rating - I can't wait to wash my face again!!!
I used this product in the shower every day, as the product tends to run down the bottle during the massaging and can get a littly messy if this is done over the sink. The cleanser has a light, fruity scent that isnt overpowering, and the bristles are stiff rubber when dry, but a bit softer when wet. The texture is unlike anything I have ever tried before, and felt very strange at first, but felt very nice and exfoliated well. I liked that the brush created the lather, and after washing it off, my face felt clean and fresh. It also made my moisturizer glide on very smoothly afterwards.
This isnt a strong cleanser, and if you were wearing makeup you should probably use a makeup remover prior to this. My skin tone looks more even and my skin is clearer thanks to those rubber bristles. Overall, I enjoyed using this and my face has even looked noticeably brighter, as one of my friends pointed out today. I then recommended the product to her, as I will to others.
I was super excited to be chosen to review this product, this was my first Chickadvisor review product. I was even more excited when the brush gel-cleanser also came with the moisture cream. I thought this was great because I do have dry skin and I thought the gel cleanser may be too harsh on my skin and would need that added moisture after use.
So... how easy was it to use? To use the gel cleanser, you need to hold the product upside down and squeeze the product for it to come out out of the brush area and the massage it circularly on your face, whilst dampening the brush head under water. When receiving the product, I immediately thought that the brush head would be too harsh on my skin, cause again my skin is dry, can be irritated easily. I thought the softness of the brush was adequate, it could of been better.
The product was easy to use, if you used it right, if you followed the directions. I don't use a washcloth to wash my face, usually just use my hands, and usually do it in the shower, and I felt it was best to use this that way as well. You need to be careful not to go near your eyes when using this, as your skin is gentle and fragile there, I would focus this on areas that are more acne-prone like the forehead, nose and chin. I also tried not to push too hard when using it, so that I did not agitate my skin.
I like the idea of the brusher. I know L'oreal has a similar product out right now, with a scrubber attached to it, the brush on this product may aid more in exfoliating and I would totally use this brush on other products if it allowed for that.
The cleanser formula was nice, I find Garnier products are not heavily perfumed, which is nice. It did seem to clean my face pretty well. I generally wash my face twice, once with moist wipes to take off my makeup (if I wear any that day) and then a second time with a cleanser.
After repeated use, I feel that my skin got used to this product, but the first time, it did feel tight after use. But that could just be because my skin is fairly dry, like I mentioned before.
It definitely helped to have the moisturizer afterwards, I always moisturize my face after cleansing and it was super nice of Chickadvisor/Garnier to add this to the testing product. I think a lot of women were happy with this. I like using products from the same company/line if at all possible because I think your results may be better this way.
I usually used this product in the shower, it is less messy and you can ensure that you get all of the product off.
I would recommend this product to others, I like the idea of the brusher on the top a lot and it is unique having that feature.
I received the Garnier Skin Renew Brusher Gel Cleanser through the PRC.
The first thing that surprised me about this product was that the brusher was not actually separate from the bottle of gel itself. I expected the brush to clip conveniently into the lid, but be removable for use. Instead, the brusher was actually attached to the bottle and does not come off. To use the cleanser you have to twist the brush to open the bottle, tilt the bottle upside down, squeeze the bottle to dispense the gel onto the brush (there is an opening in the brush through which the gel dispenses), then twist the brush head to close the bottle, then use the brush (still attached to the bottle) in a circular motion over the face. At first this sounded kind of neat... then it became a pain (and I only used it for three days!). I hate the design of this product, hate it. It is cumbersome and awkward to use because you have to hold the whole bottle of cleanser while you use the brusher over your face.
The other problem is that the first time I used it I didn't dispense enough of the gel onto the brush at first. This meant that I had to stop washing my face, rinse the brush off completely (so none of the used soap or residue was on the brush), then twist the brush top open again to dispense more gel... If the brush itself was separate from the bottle of gel I could have easily opened the gel bottle and squeezed out more gel onto the brush without having to worry about the used gel (with all the makeup and skin residue in it) getting into the bottle of gel and contaminating the whole thing. What a pain.
I've used cleansers with a soft brush before and expected the brush on this product to be similar. The brush has plastic bristles (silicone maybe?) and are not nice and soft. They are a bit stiff and they "flick" quite a bit (spraying soap onto my bathroom mirror when I used it over my sink). They bristles also caught the hairs along my hairline and pulled at them which made using the product annoying.
I found that the gel itself cleansed my skin pretty well. The smell was a little stronger than I usually like, but it wasn't offensive. The gel removed all my makeup fairly easily.
My skin felt nice and soft after using the cleanser, and it seemed to exfoliate my skin gently without drying it out.
Garnier included a full size jar of the Skin Renew moisturizer with the Cleanser. This was a nice surprise! The moisturizer was quite a bit heavier than what I normally use, but I think I will continue using it at night only. The brusher gel cleanser is supposed to improve the effectiveness of my moisturizer, but I didn't really notice much difference here.
Overall, I found the product was disappointing. I think the design of the bottle with the attached brush to be its major downfall. The likelihood of the used gel filled with makeup residue and skin residue from cleansing getting into the bottle of gel by accident (by either not closing the brush fully or in trying to add more gel to the brush in the middle of face washing) seems very high. It's such a shame that Garnier didn't opt for a brush that could be stored on the lid of the gel bottle, but comes completely off the bottle for cleansing. This alone would have made me recommend this product.
I was really excited to get this product for review so as soon as it came I quickly jumped into the shower with it in hand. I was a bit concerned that the brush might be too firm for rubbing on my face but it wasn't. The brushes bristles are very flexiable and soft. The bottle was very simple to use just twist the cap turn the bottle upside down and squeeze out some gel. Then you close off the top run the brush under some warm water and its ready to go!
When I first started using the brush on my face I was welcomed by a fresh cool scent. It was very eye opening thats for sure. I think it was a tad too strong for my likes. I normaly like the uncented products for my sensitive skin.
I ran the brush around my face in soft circular motions and noticed when it came to my nose and cheek bones the brush would flick product off the bristles and it would get everywhere (good thing I'm in the shower). It also concerned me since if I had my eyes open it would of more than likely ended up in my eyes.
After rinsing the product off my face and drying my face lightly with a towel. I noticed it was looking a lot more pink and even toned but that was just on first inspection. Apon further use I will pay close attention to my complextions evenness.
They supplied me with the Skin Renew cream so I aplied some after my shower to seal in the moisture. I really liked this mositurizer! (I will review it seperately).
My overal opinion on this product is very good I will recommend it to friends and family for sure.
When I first purchased this product, I was unsure of what to expect as I have not used any Garnier skincare product in the past. When I first used this, I found it hard to squeeze the bottle to get the product out, but maybe that's just me. In fact, in trying to get the gel product out of the bottle, I have permanently dented it, and it no longer goes back to its original shape. I have sensitive skin, not too sensitive, but some exfoliating scrubs or exfoliating skin products have irritated my skin, but he bristles aren't too harsh. After several uses, I found that my skin is softer than previously, and also a slight brightening effect as well. It also helped in lightening my acne scars from the past. The cleanser doesn't completely remove my makeup, but it's still a really nice product. It also has a very nice scent (not too strong), similar to the scent in Garnier shampoos. Overall, I quite like this product, even though it's quite cumbersome to use in the beginning, I'm definitely liking the results it gives! It doesn't dry out my skin like other cleansers do.
I was really excited to try out this product. I have combination oily sensitive skin, and the majority of gel cleansers I have tried in the past year or two have broken me out. I liked the idea of a gel cleanser being exfoliating and I use Garnier products regularly so I thought this would be good to try. This product was really easy to use. All you have do is twist the top, squeeze out some product and twist the top again to lock it. The bristles were very gentle and not abrasive at all, so if you have sensitive skin this is a product you can definitely use. The cleanser was very mild. It doesn't take off makeup, but it isn't designed to, so that's okay. There wasn't a scent to it from what I could tell, and it left my skin feeling very soft and not tight at all. I used this product over the sink in the night and in the morning in the shower and still have plenty of product left. A little bit of this goes a long way. I noticed that after I applied my moisturizer, my skin was left very silky and soft feeling. Considering this product goes on sale for $5.99 I think it's a great product and will repurchase!
I got this to review and i have to say The Garnier Brusher Gel Cleanser was such an amazing product! I absoloutly love it. It's really easy to use, just opening it up and squeezing the gel out, this also means your hands dont get used and for me thats a personal up. I really like the brusher it feels almost like a massage if you kind of close your eyes and ask someone to apply it for you. :P it feels really nice.
And now onto the main part! HOW IT WORKED.... I loved the way it felt, your face feels even toned and very soft and tight (in a good way!) It feels fresh and another thing i like about it is that it doesnt have much of a scent (is that just me?) which i find nice. I used the product over the sink and it was really easy to wear and then take it off with out a mess. I also loved how they added a Moisturizer too! that was really nice the moisturizer was great too. i loved them both. i am most definitly gunna try this product again and i highly recomend it.
the only thing i would recomond that the company do is add more information about the product like how to use it more efficiently . like should it be done once in the morning and then before you go to sleep, like i really dont know much about cleansers and moisterizers to begin with, so if someone like me picks it up they wont be satisfied if it doesnt give full information, other than that it was amazing!! loved it :)
