I received the Garnier SkinActive Clearly Brighter Brightening & Smoothing Moisturizer as part of the Chickadvisor Product Review Club. I'm only 33 years old, but have started to panic about the dullness of my skin and the appearance of age spots and wrinkles. I think it will take a few months of using this moisturizer to see long term results, but in the short term I did feel like my skin was more radiant and this moisturizer definitely quenched my skin and left it hydrated, especially in the winter. I would never consider a moisturizer without sunscreen and there is always a worry that some would be thick and goopy, but this one absorbed fast.

I really don't have a routine other than I was my face morning and night. I have noticed that my skin was not as bright and fresh looking as it used to be. I don't really hold much faith in all these products because I assumed that it is just what happens as you age. I was delighted at how this made my skin feel and after a week my face looks and feels more like the old me. Easy to apply and only a small amount needed. I am seeing a noticeable improvement in my face and cannot wait to see how much better in looks in the next few weeks

I found that this moisturizer left my skin feeling supple and soft. I did not notice that it made my skin significantly brighter but it does have a nice sheen to it. It is an average daily moisturizer - I don't dislike it, but I don't love it. I don't wear foundation, but my friend who does, found that it made her foundation a bit flaky.

I am a little disappointed that it has only SPF15 - when I have a moisturizer that has SPF, anything less than SPF45 seems kind of a waste because I have sun exposure for a couple of hours while driving each day and SPF15 isn't really cutting it. In which case I'd have to wear my sunscreen with the moisturizer anyway.

This product served as a decent daily moisturizer but wasn't anything spectacular. As mentioned by others, the low SPF value is counter productive to a brightening and smoothing cream. As well, the price is much higher than what I would expect for the size.
After 1 week I did not notice any brightening.

When I first using it, I really love the smell of this moisturizer! I put this on every morning before I headed out to work. The texture of this moisturizer is very light weight (since a lot of times, with SPF ingredient, the texture tends to be more heavy with other brands). It's very easy to put on, blend out easily and absorb fairly quickly by my skin. It is very smooth, no feeling of greasy/oily at all and it does not cause breakouts on my skin.

I really love it and I would recommend it to my friend if they need a moisturizer with sunscreen component.

I've tried Garnier moisturizers before so I knew what kind of quality to expect. I wasn't disappointed! The product had a nice consistently and the scent didn't bother me. I think I'd have to use it longer to see whether it really "brightens and smooths", but otherwise I think it works well! I love that it has SPF, since that's a must for any daytime moisturizer I buy. I'd definitely consider buying this when I run out. Thanks for letting me try this, ChickAdvisor!

Glad chickadvisor sent me this product to test out or else I normally wouldn't have, if saw in store, as the product doesn't look like it stands out from the rest but it is a fairly good product!!!
I liked that it had a mild scent, was pretty but didn't last long which was good, didn't want scent to combine with other scents (perfume) for example. The scent didn't bother me!

I did notice a brighter complexion, not significantly but did notice, I seemed I had a glow.
The moisturizer didn't cause me to break out, wasn't oily or anything which I liked, it did smooth my skin and makeup easily was applied!!

Price was good for what it was worth, comparable to other brands.

I'd probably buy again in addition to other moisturizers I like.

I have been using this product for just over a week now and really like it. It has a light citrusy smell, and goes on evenly and blends right into my skin. It does not leave it greasy like most moisturizers do to my oil prone skin. The price is also not too bad, the bottle is decent sized and it will hopefully last me a couple of months. I also love that it has sunscreen in it which is great for my daily routine. The one thing that I don't really like is that its only SPF 15, I think it should be at least SPF 30 minimum even for a facial moisturizer. Its definitely one of the better moisturizers I've tried, specifically for the fact is leaves my skin super smooth and even, and non greasy. It allowed me to apply my makeup overtop without worrying about making my skin even more greasy.

Absolutely love the light citrus scent and it doesn't feel caked on or heavy under my makeup. After about a week I started to notice a difference in my skin. Only downfall is that I wish the SPF was higher. The price is in comparison with a lot of the same moisturizers out there. I would definitely purchase this again to see the result of a prolonged use. Check it out ladies... a great go to moisturizer.

This moisturizer has a quite strong citrus scent but it isn't unpleasant and it seems to fade on application. The texture is a moderately thick cream as I would expect from a lotion containing sunscreen. I have quite dry skin and I did find that it was fairly moisturizing. There was no white cast on my skin but it was shiny and I felt like I needed to apply makeup over it to tone down the shine. It seemed to be fine under makeup and it didn't change the wear of my makeup. Although I was a bit worried when I saw that this contains an exfoliating acid, I didn't have any issues with sensitivity, even on my dry cheeks. I have been using it for two days now and I haven't noticed any brightening of my skin but it does feel smoother.

Overall I think this is a good product but I do have two issues. The biggest one is the low SPF. SPF 15 is just not enough. I know that the recommended minimum is SPF 30 which is what I use for daily use. If I'm going to be outside at all I use an SPF 50. I think the low SPF combined with the exfoliating acid would be a disaster for me if I were to get any sun exposure at all. My other issue is the price. This is a pretty tiny bottle and if anyone wanted to use it as their primary SPF they would go through it in a very short time. I think that I will continue to use it because I like the smoothing effect but only on days when I'm indoors and not exposed to the sun.
