My New Year's Resolution is to buy more ethically sourced and domestically produced products so I can support my national economy AND know I am not contributing to third world poverty by investing in governments and industries that sustain poverty. That's why I bought these George Crew Socks. They're made in Canada from African cotton, and the proceeds both employ other Canadians, and enable African farmers with smaller holdings to make enough money to support themselves, providing a bridge out of poverty. They cost about a quarter more per pair than the ones made in China, but to create jobs in my country, and ensure I know where my product is coming from? Totally worth it.
