Good as a treat, but ration it like all other fruit purees/j
There are a lot of reviews here commenting on the amount of sugar and while it's true that this does have 18G of sugar per pouch, it's not like that sugar was added to it. It's not surprising since it's a fruit puree. It's literally mushed up fruit and spinach, so, of course, the sugar content is high. Like dried fruit, you are packing a lot of fruit into a smaller space. That being said, it's important to be aware of this and it's probably not the best thing to give a whole one of these to smaller children or toddlers. Be aware of your little one's nutritional needs.
I think half a pouch is a good bet with this (babies under 12 months you must squeeze out the pouch anyway. Once opened use within 24 hours, so you can give a half one day and half the next), but like fruit juices and other concentrated fruit products you want to be careful not to overfeed. For bigger kids a pouch might be ok, though they might be embarrassed that there's a baby on the packet!
What I really like about this is not there's nothing (Absorbic acid is Vitamin C) added. Even though the sugar is worth keeping an eye on, it's not like it's an added sugar with no benefits. There's a lot of vitamin C in this. I do feel like there should be more nutritional value, given the addition of spinach, but the Vitamin C payoff is pretty good. (40% daily value).
The spinach isn't detectable and it's sweet without being that fake, overpowering sweet that added sugar causes (organic too, if you care about that). The texture is like a diluted apple sauce.
Overall, I think this is a nice treat, especially for toddlers, but definitely take care not to overfeed. You can also mix this in with your own baby food (6 mths+), but make sure to use it within 24 hours of opening.
