I tried this razor for review and I really love it. It comes with two blade cartridges and the holder for it. The first time I used it I was pretty happy with the results. It left my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth. I didn't bother using a shaving cream with it, just a bit of my body was and the results were comparable to shaving with a shaving cream.
I picked this new Venus Pro-Skin Moisture Rich razor up only because it was on sale for $8 and I had a coupon for $3 off. Other wise I don’t think I would have bothered trying it and not because of the price, because I haven’t had much luck with they’re other razors that have shave gel bars. They always seem to melt away long before the razor has lost it effectiveness. This new Venus Pro-Skin Moisture rich razor has two gel bars that are enriched with a triple blend of body butters for a comfortable shave, each cartridge has three blades and the handle is nice and sleek and sits in your hand comfortably. The refill cartridges are made to be interchangeable with they’re other razors; this one comes with a shower hook for your convenience and two cartridges per new razor package. All you have to do is add a little water to the razor and you are ready to shave. I found it quit comfortable in my hand and had no fear of it slipping out of my grip. The bars left a silky feel and the three blades gave me a close comfortable shave leaving my legs silky smooth, just the way I like them. How ever my fear of the gel bars melting away came true with these blades as well leaving me disappointed ounce again. I’m not sure if this was because it was left in the shower and the heat from everyone showering caused the shave gel bars to melt away, or if they’re just not made well. I was only able to get one good shave out of this razor. The next time I went to use it the shave gel bars were melted back past the razor blades and I almost took a chink out of my arm pit with it. I had to turn the razor over to be able to put the shave gel on, then turn the razor back over to shave. It still shaved very well, but who wants to go though all that especially when they were suppose to made so you didn’t have to use shaving cream, or shaving gel. The new Venus Pro-Skin Moisture Rich Razor gets a big thumbs down from me!.
I was so ticked off with the Venus Pro-skin Moisture Rich Razor that every time I saw a commercial for it, it was making me madder and madder. So the other day I went to the web site and sent them and email telling them just how disappointed I was, not only with the Venus Pro, but also with all the razors they have that have shave gel bars. To my surprise I received an email back from P&G;the very next day telling me how they put every thing they make through all this quality control and how sorry they were that I had such bad experiences with they're products. Then they told me because they were so sorry they were sending me a coupon for free Venus razor refills cartage's. So if you have had the same bad experience with any thing P&G;makes go to that products web site, look for the contact us at that bottom of the page and complain to the company. They will respond back to you and you might even get something free like I did.
I purchased this razor simply because it was on sale and I wasn't finding any other razors that worked well for me. I didn't even realize it had moisture strips on the top and bottom of the blades. I love not having to buy shaving gel! This razor works excellently!
I got this razor from a PR company to try.
This razor is meant to alleviate the harshness of shaving constantly, using soothing properties such as olive oil, avocado, and kokum butter to deeply moisturize the skin.
The good thing about this is that you don't need to buy shaving cream for this, as the moisturizing lather sticks above and below the razor portion is sufficient. The scent of vanilla, caramel and cream is very relaxing and sweet, but it really depends on the person. It also comes with a convenient wall stand for the shower.
I've used a similar venus razor with the lather sticks and found that they disintegrate/fall off pretty quickly. Maybe it's because I keep them for too long, but it happens in about 3 or 4 uses. Also, with the lather sticks there I feel like i need to press harder for the right amount of contact, which causes me to nick myself.
However, I don't think I'll be able to switch back to regular razors without the moisturizing components because it does make my skin feel less irritated. Well done, Gillette!
