I'm not a camera expert and for me the two modes I was primarily interested in with this camera were the underwater and slow motion mode. I've seen similar cameras in this style with other options, but they've all lacked the slow motion. I've never owned a Go-Pro, but I have to admit that after using this camera, I'm not sure why anyone would drop three times the amount on one. As far as I can see, the only thing Go-Pro does that this doesn't is 4K.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend this for close-ups or 'pretty' photography. It's a wide-angle lens and while the 16MP is superior to most (if not all) smartphone cams, you can't focus like with a phone or DSLR and it's very much an action camera.

It's pretty easy to use, the manual has all the info you need. The app worked fine with this and my LG G3 and I was easily able to download items from the camera (hold up for wifi) to my phone.

The other benefit of this is that it already comes with a ton of accessories befitting an action cam, you don't have to buy this separately. That in itself was impressive. If you have money to burn, you can go ahead and buy both and compare them, but for anyone looking for a budget action cam, I would definitely recommend this.

I really enjoyed using the slow-motion method with my cats and will experiment further with the waterproof case too (which didn't leak at all). Check out my video to see a reduced quality example of the slow mo and underwater abilities.

- Doesn't film 4K.
- Need a microSD or TF card which is not included.
