After I spoke about it on my stories, many of you guys reached out to me. So I decided to make a permanent post on the @glowrecipe watermelon moisturizer.
When I tried the mask in the past, I liked its water-ish texture, loved the scent and adored my morning after skin.
I enjoyed many aspects of it, up until I discovered @laneigeca sleeping mask, where I got similar results and paid half as much.
Now the moisturizer: an oil free, non comedogenic, very lightweight moisturizer, packed with vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids.
A cocktail of active ingredients, promising the delivery of a hydrated, bright and soothed skin, aka "baby soft skin" all day long. ✨In my experience✨
Pros:
💓Watermelon extract is an amazing antioxidant. One of its properties is to sort of "boost" the efficiency of sunscreen.
💓Comes in a closed container, minimizing the risks of contamination and preserving the potency of the ingredients.
💓Very lightweight, it feels like a serum/gel hybrid. So ideal for oily skin, or for people who dislike the feel of skin humectant, commonly found in moisturizers.
💓The scent is refreshing and fun.
Cons:
💔Not enough moisture for my (currently) combo skin, my foundation looked horribly patchy on top of it.
💔I didn't see any sort of "luminous glow" other than the dewy wetness it leaves behind when applied.
💔I haven't seen any skin soothing properties whatsoever. 💔It had no effect, good or bad, on my small breakouts, or my post acne scars. *** I wasn't expecting any type of miracle. I was comparing the results to other products with similar claims, who ended up delivering visible results.
Also, with 50$CAD, you can get so many similar, yet better options for your skin AND money.
Conclusion: this is not something I would recommend to anyone. Unless they are looking for a cute looking lightweight moisturizer.
