I don't agree with the entire world... I didn't like this book at all. It starts off from the point of view of the husband who's wife goes missing and all the clues look like he did it, and then it shifts to the story from her point of view. Big twist ending. A more despicable/evil human has never been written about. Trying not to give anything away but there is a person in the story that is just so hatefully hurtful that it is beyond reasoning as to why any person would want to be with them in the end. [Spoiler alert] I felt the book was leading up to this great moment where the "good" person was going to come out victorious over this evil villain but I was disappointed when all is forgiven and life will go on as if nothing happened. What?!?!? The worst thing that could ever happen to you was done by this person, and you trust them? Ugh, get away from me. There is no hero. I think I hated it because it shows how many forms of abuse/abusive relationships there can be and that the best thing is to get away from them immediately... and these characters do the wrong thing. Sold my hardcover for $2 at a garage sale to be gone with it. They made this sad story into a movie, maybe for me the movie is better than the book. I end with repeating that every single person loved this book and I'm the odd one.

    Marriage. Murder. Lies…

I haven’t given 5 stars out to a lot of books lately; and while this book may not be perfectly written, it caught my attention. I wanted to keep reading it until the very end. And I mean, with marriage, murder, lies, cheating, how could it not be good?

For a quick synopsis it is about Nick Dunne and his wife Amy who recently left New York jobless to Nick’s hometown to look after his ailing mother. Amy has disappeared and Nick reacts inappropriately to some of the search, leading people to believe he is guilty. The ultimate question is, did he kill his wife, or is there something else? Amy, was the subject of a bestselling series of books written by her child psychologist parents. She was Amazing Amy to the world, and had attracted some stalkers in the past, possibly being the something else. And I fear that I can’t really give much else in the review for the possibilities of spoilers.

I love the twists of this book. I enjoyed the writing styles between the characters as it allowed me to gain an understanding and appreciation for them both. If you want to read a mystery that has an underlying love story attached to it, pick this book up.

I also can see a sequel to this book, which I am super excited for!

    5 stars!

Amazing book! It is such an easy read, and fascinating! I finished it in less than 48 hours (and it is not a small book)! I am they kind if person, where if I am not interested in a book after the first chapter, I'm not going to take the time to finish it, but with this book I was hooked after the first couple of pages.

As an introduction to this author's work I was completely won over. She has certainly made my list of mystery/thriller writers must reads. A psychological thriller with numerous twists that kept you on the edge of your seat and frustrated when you have to place the book down to deal with th e real world. I found myself bargaining for just five more minutes to read. Exceptional.
