Great snack for on the go, and kids loved them
Great snack for on the go, and kids loved them
These boxes of individually-wrapped muffins (4 in each pack) are really good for traveling! The only drawbacks are that they get smooshed easily, are not as eco-friendly as they could be with the thin plastic wrap, and the muffins themselves are quite crumbly and can make a mess (especially for little kids).
I really liked that the ingredient list is quite basic, though I'd have preferred that palm oil (second last on the list) was replaced with a different, less eco-unfriendly ingredient.
The muffins don't taste super sweet, which I love! The two flavors I chose, Chocolate Chip Oatmeal and Fruit & Fiber, have 18 g and 17 g of sugar per 85 g muffin, so that works out to approximately each muffin being 21% and 20% sugar. I'm guessing it's also partly because they're quite fluffy, and ingredients like rolled oats and bran, respectively, help to offset the sweetness. Also a plus: the sugar content is present in the form of actual sugar and brown sugar, and not something like high-fructose corn syrup.
The Chocolate Chip Oatmeal muffins contain 3 g of fiber per muffin, which is not bad. The fat content is 13 g, and it contains 15% of the RDA for calcium. (Overall, the Fruit & Fiber flavor is more healthful, and to be honest, my kids liked both, so I'd go for the Fruit & Fiber every time over the Chocolate Chip Oatmeal.) The texture was soft and fluffy, and while they pretty much do taste like a health-food version of a chocolate thing, they're really pretty good. My kids (1 and 3) loved these—though they're pretty much into anything carb-y! They do make a huge mess eating these crumbly muffins, though.
At CA$4.99 for a box of four muffins, these aren't the cheapest snacks, so I would probably only buy them (more likely in the Fruit & Fiber flavor, as I mentioned above) as a travel treat now and then, if they're on sale. They're a nice option to have in the grocery, though, and I'd be interested in trying the bars, too. I just didn't see any in my store at the time.
(I received two boxes free via ChickAdvisor.)
Good for school Lunches
These muffins were quite tasty but a little dry for my taste but daughter really liked them. They aren't huge and would be perfect to pack in a school lunch. And I like the fact there isn't a lot of extra ingredients in them.
Good product
I trialled this product thanks to chick advisor for free. It tasted good and my kids liked it too. They are not as good as home made but the packaging kept them fresh.
I'd likely but them in the future
Love, love, love
These snacks are packed with flavour with simple ingredients. I appreciate the individually packaged goods as it is freshly available to snack on. I have already repurchased to try all the flavours. (I have received a coupon for reviewing purposes)
Great fresh wholesome taste!
I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of this packaged muffin. I usually stay away from packaged baked goods but this one I LOVED!! The muffin was not on the sweet side at all which I liked. Oatmeal and chocolate chip is a delicious combination to begin with and to put it together with wholesome ingredients that Im okay with is a win win, The price on these are 4.99 for a pack of 4 which is a little pricey but I will pick up when there is a sale!
Worth it if you buy your breakfast
I wasn't a fan of the package when i picked it up because all the boxes were damp. Not really sure why but all of them were dewy and wet but regardless i picked one up. I love the fact that they're made with no artificial flavours or colour. They're 4.99 for a box of 4, so if you typically go to the coffee shop to pick up a muffin this this is a great alternative. I love Chocolate oatmeal and it tasted just like the ones I make at home.
Yummy!
I #gotitfree from ChickAdvisor. These muffins are perfect for busy mornings, you can grab them and go without feeling bad that you are eating chocolate for breakfast. Great taste and they are the perfect size. I hope I can continue to find these in my local stores.
Delicious
I liked how fresh and moist theses were. They were good but I really liked the fruit and fiber muffins best. But i was pleasantly surprised at how good these products were. I had not tried them before but now I am hooked.
not sure if I will purchase again
I received this product free to try and write a review. The muffin is attracting to the eye, similar to the more expensive ones you find in cafes. The oats were large and chocolate well portioned. Individually wrapped easy to pack in lunches and keep fresh longer. I found the muffins too sweet, otherwise tasty.
Handy and Moist
These chocolate chip oatmeal muffins definitely came in handy during a busy day, and I felt good about indulging in my treat as the ingredients were "good and simple.
The oatmeal gave decent texture and the chocolate chips gave flavour without too much sweetness.
The packaging was a convenient way to grab-and-go with a snack, but to be honest, for this price point I'd rather make my own muffins.
