Great Taste, Healthy Ingredients,
My husband is picky. So I received the Cranberry/Orange Bars and the Oatmeal/ Chocolate Chip Muffins. I loved both and he loved the muffins. They both were healthy, tasted like homemade baked goods.
I am currently pregnant, so of course I had to heat up the muffin in the microwave, usually I add butter but these didn't need any!
I found them in the bakery aisle at my grocery store, and I have to admit they were hard to spot, mixed in between the brownies and the cheese bread. But I found them. I think a better shelf display would work for this company.
Chocolatey Goodness!!!!
These are delicious! From the very first bite you can tell that there are real ingredients being used. There are no artificial tastes at all. I love that they added the pieces of crunchy oats on top of the muffin. Its a nice touch!
My new favourite snack!
I received a coupon to pick up this item from my local Metro to try and review. I really enjoyed this muffin. They are all individually packaged, so they remain very fresh. Loved the oats and the chocolate flavour. They are very moist and taste homemade. I would definitely purchase these again, and highly recommend them! #gotitfree
Chocolatey goodness.
Amazing Taste. Slightly chocolatey and delicious. I usually reach for heathier snacks but for my treat once a week I would buy it. I would repurchase and already recommended them to friends.
I received the item for free as part of the Chick Advisor Product Review Club.
Good Healthy Muffin
I got to try these muffins for free and I did like them. I found them to be a little on the dry side and could of used some more chocolate chips (guess that would make it less healthy haha) but over all I enjoyed the muffins. I liked that all the ingredients were simple.
I would buy these muffins to snack on if they were a little cheaper, they were $4.99 for a box of 4 at Metro. I have already recommended them to friends looking for a healthy snack.
Great for breakfast
I got these muffins for free, and would recommend them if you don't have time to make them yourself. It is an affordable choice compared to a coffee shop muffin. They were very moist and satisfying. The oatmeal made the muffins hearty and filling, while the chocolate tasted great without making it overly sweet. I also didn't find it too dense as common with oatmeal muffins. The flavour was not artificial and I enjoyed it for breakfast and it would be good for an afternoon snack. All in all it was surprisingly good for a grocery store muffin!
Yummy but not healthy
I was able to try these muffins for free thanks to Chickadvisor. I did enjoy the taste and texture of these muffins and I liked the fact that they used simple ingredients. I think they were easy to transport by being prepackaged as well. I don't think the value was very good. Nearly $5 for 4 muffins. I also don't think that these baked goods are very healthy even though they are being marketed as such. I would probably not buy these again unless I wanted a nice treat, even so I would probably bake my own muffins as I can control the amount of sugar and fats going into them.
New Favourite
Indulging in this delightful muffin was sure to help get me through my work day! Excellent taste, I love that they are individually packaged to take while on the go. Will have to start buying these regularly!
A tasty breakfast, or snack!
I received a coupon as one of the lucky chickadvisors asked to review these muffins! #gotitfree. The product gave me about a week on the code date, and the product remained fresh as the day I purchased them with the coupon. The chocolate tastes excellent, and seems to settle near the bottom of the muffin which gives a sweet treat to every bite. I had the muffins both, as a snack, and a breakfast on the go. The individually wrapped muffins made the breakfast on the go an easy choice as it didn't leave a crumbly mess in the bottom of my bag. As a premade muffin I was pleased I had a fresh baked taste as if I had purchased it from a place such as Tim Hortons. I loved the oats on the muffin top it also added a nice touch to the flavour! I am looking forward to trying the other muffins in the Good and Simple brand!
A muffin by any other name...
Like many other reviewers I received a coupon to try out Good & Simple's Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Muffins. I found this product as recommend at Freshco for $4.49 for a box of four individually wrapped muffins while being $3.97 for the same amount at Walmart. Being individually wrapped the muffins were easy to throw into a lunch bag but I could have just as easily put the muffin into my own reusable container and avoided the extra bit of waste.
I was a little disappointed that the "oatmeal" was a small sprinkling on top of the muffin and not mixed throughout. While I don't object to the taste of these muffins I didn't find anything that would make them stand out to me against other products of the same variety.
Personally I likely will not purchase this product again as I don't often snack on baked goods and nearly $5 for four muffins seems a bit costly for me as I could easily pay that $5 and get six muffins at Freshco.
I'm very unsure what to make of this branding. Yes the snacks did taste good and had simple ingredients listed on the box but to me it seems as if they are being marketed as a "healthier alternative" to other baked snacks. A quick online search of the brand didn't help clarify this either as all I could find were links back to other reviewers here on Chickadvisor and a Facebook page that rehashed all the information found on the box.
