Just ok
I tried these chocolate chip muffins free through chick advisor and although they are ok and we had them as free, we won't be purchasing them again. They are considered a healthy muffin therefore the added ingredients really make the calories high and the taste was ok but not fantastic. I find the regular price quite expensive for 4 ok muffins, so we won't be buying again.
Just ok
I received this product as a ChickAdvisor trial sample. It's not bad for a store-bought baked good, better than others I have tried on the market. The muffin was surprisingly moist, but it was incredibly crumbly and messy. They come individually wrapped, which must help with keeping them moist. There was a decent ratio of chocolate chips throughout the muffin, but I feel that for the nutritional value (300 calories for this little muffin?) they could have done a lot more. If I'm basically having a meal's worth of calories in a snack, I want a meal's worth of chocolate in it, and at $1.25 each, it's a bit pricey for what you get. I'm sure it ticks the box for some people, but I probably won't go out of my way to purchase this one in the future.
Just Ok.
These muffins were just Ok for me. My husband enjoyed them more than me. I found them to be a little bit too sweet for my liking. They did crumble a lot, however they were moist and the one thing I liked about them is that they were individually packaged. They do retail for 4.99 but I suggest you wait until they are on sale for 2.99 if you want to give them a try.
A lot of calories for a little muffin!
I tried the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip muffins tonight and at first was quite optimistic. They felt dense and moist, which is hard to come by in store bought muffins. The didn't have any noticeable scent.
Unfortunately, the muffins, although quite moist, crumbled everywhere and didn't really have any discernable flavour. The chocolate chips weren't really chocolatey.
I was pleased that they seemed quite filling. They are a nice snack size and when compared to Tim Hortons, they were a reasonable value at less than $1 each.
Then I noticed that each muffin contained over 300 calories! This stopped me in my tracks. This will likely never be a go to snack of mine. Much too high calorie for everyday consumption.
Not going to buy these again
I was selected to try out the Good & Simple Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Muffins. The box comes with 4 individually wrapped muffins for $4.99 at Metro, so really expensive at $1.25/muffin. There was a lot of packaging for a little product which seems wasteful We found the portion size very small for the price. They tasted okay but we found them to be dry. I did like that there are no artificial colours or flavours and that all the ingredients are recognizable. That being said, I could bake two dozen muffins for the same cost so I don't think we'll be making these a regular thing.
