Color came out lighter than expected. Not enough shades to choose from to stay within 2 shades of current color. Amount of product seemed like less than other home dyes, not enough if doing full coverage. Conditioner scent was way too overpowering for me. I ended up rinsing it out and using my own color conditioner to rid of Gosh conditioner scent.
As a girl whose been dying her hair since age 13, I really wanted to be wowed by GOSH. I have had no problem with other hair dye brands - Clairol, Garnier, etc. I have medium length hair, and have always only needed 1 bottle of dye to get the job done. I read the instructions for dying my hair with GOSH - "Place mixing tray on a flat surface. Mix hair colour and developer using the applicator brush." I opened the box - there was no mixing tray, no applicator brush, so the instructions became useless to me and I had to apply the dye straight from the bottle.
I began working on my roots, sectioned off strands of my hair, and began what I call the "first go-around" - make sure everything is lightly dyed for Round 1, before I go over it all again and really work in the dye, making sure all hints of the previous shade of undyed hair are covered. Well, I barely finished Round 1 before the hair dye ran out. My hair before beginning to dye it using GOSH was a coppery light brown. I used GOSH 134 Dark Blonde hoping to lighten it up a bit for the summer. MAJOR FAIL, as now, my hair colour is spotty and only half dyed. I am majorly disappointed, as this hair dye cost more than what I normally get and I feel I was sorely under compensated. Using GOSH today has been a chore, and now I have to go back to the store, buy the same shade and finish the job that should have been done the first time around. I didn't even get all the right "tools" the instructions outlined them as providing!
DON'T WASTE YOU TIME OR MONEY ON THIS. USE GARNIER OR CLAIROL INSTEAD.
I found the selection of colour of this line very limited for blondes, when I finally found a colour that was somewhat agreeable I did not find the actual results to be great. This is a pretty harsh dye with mediocre results at best. Like the previous reviewer I also experienced dry scalp with this product, which I have never had with any other dyes
I always use home hair colouring products. Generally I stick to L'Oreal and Nice and Easy. I tried GOSH for the first time a few days ago and it is HORRIBLE!
It was extremely hard on my scalp and ended up causing the skin to flake for the following few days. For that reason alone I recommend that you AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COSTS! It was very drying to my hair, something that those of us who colour want to make sure to avoid. finally, the colour result was flat and boring looking. Not all all the fresh look I get when I use other products.
DO NOT BUY THIS HAIR COLOUR! I will never use this again.
